I was thinking the same thing. I mean Kubina is a solid all around d but won't be winning the Norris anytime soon. McCabe is a pp specialist and almost nothing else and I still say Gill is to slow and not made for the new NHL. Who is going to score and play with Sundin?

Ok....Anyways I'm not going to turn this thread into a koivu vs savard thread because I could say forsberg is better then koivu and 50% of the people on this board would disagree...So it's a waste of time....But go ask the none habs fan and you'll get your answer. Thank you very much!

Yes Forsberg is a better player then Koivu but I still say that overall Koivu is better then Savard and his salary is fine. I guess time will tell, lets see what happens this season.

Man it's getting to be a freakin' nightmare talk about being screwed by the system, we have to play these guys 4 more times then anyone else. The NE will basicly eleminate each ohter off from playoff at this rate. I just hope they get lockerroom problems with the newbies.

Oh My gosh.. i go eat a good poutine at La Belle Province and I come back 10 minutes later and now Chara and Savard are Ruins and Kubina Hill Leafs ??

What the... Oh gosh I never thought I will say that but we NEED Elias. Or at least a trade, someting, but I dont want Bouillon as only signing when our 2 biggest rivals get 2 of the 10 best dmens in the whole league..

The good thing that I always hate Chara and Savard and I dont want them here so I can hate more and more the Bruins, but I kinda like Kubina and Hill...

Please Bob.. a move.. please

Kubina is a good acquisition for the Leafs. I like him a lot... but Gill?

Hal « The Human Pylon » Gill. They think, he's better than Belak or any scrubs they had? He's brutal. He's one of the reason we beat the Bruins two years and a row...

I'm happy though. It's so much fun watching Habs forward exploit him... I was a bit worried he would go West...

It will be one or the other no cap room for both if they get anywhere near to what they both are rumored to be wanting.

True, but Arnott and Shanahan together aren't out of the realm of possibility.

It makes Boston better getting rid of him. He was a big dumb pylon in the two playoff losses to Montreal. No idea what JFJ's thinking with that one, but good on him .

well i wanted kubina, but at 5 mil, forget it! bouillon is fine for the price we got him considering what everyone else got today!
gainey was just waiting to see ehat happened. tommorow he will make his moves:

the Zherdev for perz and souray

then sign D markov as a replacement

then trade Zednik to Van for jason king he will play on our 3rd line..

then sign Arnott and that is that!

ribs will stay untill koivu is assured to retutn, then he is gone!

Zherdev Arnott Kovalev
Higgins Koivu Ryder
XX Pleks King
Murray Bonk Begin

where XX could be latendresse or lapiere or whoever impress the most in camp, or ribs.

and then D is the same minus souray plus markov!
Done and Done!

now lets see how much of it im actually right

If I am the Habs with some cap room...

1) Jovo - even at 6.5 he's a force and worth the overpayment
2) Corvo 2.6 - 40 points and 14 goals. Boullion is more of a journeyman and older.
3) Bouillion - Decent bottom pairing D-Man at a decent price
4) Kubina - Awesome D man but 5 million is too much for him
5) Gill - I wouldn't sign him for 450K. I wouldn't play him in the AHL either at 100K.

If I am the Sens... 1) Corvo 2) Bouilion - can't afford the other 3
