Excellent game. EVERYONE showed up.

- Nicky was a beast, and this is the 3rd game in a row where he has been very good
- Ovi was great. No goals but he was shooting. He was hustling. Backchecking. Can't ask for more. If he keeps this up he will get his goals/assists
- Green has been good so far this season. He's not the physical player I'd like him to be, but he's been solid.
- Bryz wasn't the same after he took that hard shot from Ovi. Let in two quick goals after that.
- Earskin hit just about anything that moved
- MJ was okay. The Swedes work well together. Keep the lines from tonight.
- We will beat the Pens.

The effort from everyone was incredible. Ovie was a beast! I have a good feeling about the Pens game!

Agree with all you said here, but especially the line combos. They were clicking all over the place.

Doesn't mean crap.

For some reason when Philly is struggling they choke here at VC.

It's fine if it works both ways. Just sayin'............thuggery on the Canadiens last year ended up in the cellar.

If you like breaking people's skulls and getting suspended, sure.

Those hits and fights have no place in the game. They delay and injure other players.

Yep,.....he'll get suspended but nothing wrong with the other teams being afraid of a Caps player

I'd rather have the electrifying offense that scared opponents other than punching them in the face.

Yeah, this was one of the few dark spots on the game for me. I didn't expect something like that from Erskine, he's a heavy hitter but he's always been clean. I hope Wayne's ok.

Same here, but if never hurts to have some grit,....this team sure can use it.....not saying I want to see anybody badly hurt, but bloody hell, every opposing teams crowds our crease with no fear

its part of the game and happens if you dont like it the wizards needs some fans

No one is forcing him to play without a cage.

Yea....

That looked like the Ovechkin of old. Big strong forechecking...howies on the PP. Keep doing that nd you'll see 90 pts.

It does happen no doubt. Just don't like being two faced about it. If you didn't like the hit on Backstrom then you shouldn't like this one either. Personally I don't like any of it. Put me in the group that would like the Caps to win like the Lightning score tonight. Not by some cheap assed elbow.

Only got the 2 last periods, but enjoyed it seems like the team is starting to roll...
But I expect Erskine to be lost for 3 games, exactly the same what Volchenkov got 3 last year for.

Habs fans coming in peace just to know which goalie do you think is number 1 now Neuvirth or Holtby?

Holtby looked good tonight the 2 goals were unstoppable.

In the long run i think the caps should give Holtby a chance i haven't been impressed by Neuvirth's play since he is in the nhl.

Neuvirth still.

This game likely would've been 4-1 if Neuvy was in net. Holtby is too inconsistent as of now. He played good, though.

Actually yes they are. Full cages made of metal are banned from the NHL unless for injury concerns

If you mean visors, they'd just rip them off and fight anyways
The science shows that fighting is detrimental to a player's health. Duh. It serves no purpose other than to "back up your opposing players".

If you feel the need to "back up your players and fight" take a several game suspension. That's how they do it elsewhere and guess what? It works! I like the actual skill part of hockey, the passing shooting and skating. We already have enough concussions in the game, but why do we need fighting and deliberate illegal hits? Both should have extreme punishments. It only makes sense, now.

You fight? Get a several game suspension and ejected from the game? Fight again, longer suspension. And so on.
