While I have never thought Quine was going to be a star, I never saw why people questioned a player who put up 70 pts last year getting a contract. especially since I've heard he had good speed.
on another note
Martin Frk, had 2 goals an assist, was +4 had 5 good shots on net, and was the 3rd star of the game.
Based on some Russian tweets, I believe Marchenko is injured and will be out for up to 4 weeks. He has missed their two last games. I'll try to find out what kind of injury it is.

Kid can't get a break... I really don't like injury prone players but he's had bunch of them.

There's a reason why everyone passed on him at the draft. It's sad but he's probably not going to be able to overcome the injury bug. No harm done from the Wings' perspective since it was a late pick anyway, but too bad for the kid.

I've never rated him that highly due to him making Carlo Colaicovo look like Cal Ripken. Hopefully he still plans to come over and play in Grand Rapids next season.

Well that was awesome. Makes Carlo Colaicovo=Cal Ripken Jr.........
*Not judging the prospect, I really don't have time for that. But, thanks that was great comedy.
Z with 5 points and a hat-trick.
Tats with a hat-trick.
Nyquist with 1g 2a.
Mrazek 21/22. Sproul with 2g 3a, 1st star.
Ouellet and Frk with GWG's.
Good night for the Wings all-around¡
Good god, what are they feeding Sproul? That's an unreal stat line for any player let alone a defenceman. I think that brings him up to 46 points in 33 games, he's now just 1 point back of the defenceman scoring lead with 19 less games played.
Tatar is now 7th overall in AHL scoring, Nyquist is 4th. They scary thing is both guys could potentially finish top 5 in scoring this year now that Eberle & Schultz are gone. There really is no reason for either of them to be down here this year, next year they both better be playing in the top 9 of the wings.

So is Sproul leading PPG in just the OHL, or the CHL as well?
leading WHL guy is at 1.17 and 1.18 for the QMJHL so in straight up PPG all of it
dunno what the scoring rates are like in the various leagues though so he might not have the highest if you adjust for that(although he probably does a .2 edge is pretty big)
Again he just throws himself on the ice when opponent is rushing the puck. Seen him do that on so many highlights.. when opponent scores. You're 6'4 kid, take the damn body.
I was just about to write that too! I remember Kronner having a very similar development route. Plus him having a very physical game as a smaller guy. I still can see Marchenko being a very good NHLer without too many injuries. I think his problem in catching the show is more in the names of Ouellet, Sproul, Bäckmann amongst fairly young guys as Kronwall, Smith, Ericsson and Kindl. That is a Top-7 for the next 7-8 years right there....
