Another very good period. Two trends emerging early in the season:

1. They're playing well enough to get high quality chances but not well enough to convert those chances into goals.
2. Our goaltender is usually the second best goaltender on the ice.

If we can solve even ONE of those we'll be a lot better off.

And the little ****storm looked pretty good. Damn does he ever zip those passes around.

I like BB bringing in the kids. We haven't had this much infusion of youth since well...after the last lockout.

Holy crap. Look at Fowler in that interview after ONE period. And I used to have doubts about his dedication to this team.

I was on the computer, which faces the opposite way of the tv, so what'd he look like? I did hear the heavy breathing...

Fowler is just on a whole different planet this season. It's hard to believe, but he looks faster, and soooo confident.
Fowler had a great chance in the 2nd half of the period but Backstrom robbed him. Yeah, he looks out of this world this year.

Fowler is soooo good. And he's starting to look like a leader on the ice. He'll probably get one of the 'A's after Koivu and Teemu retire

Gotta wonder if this lockout was a good thing for his career.

Team played strong the first period. Hope to see the same intensity at the start of the 2nd.

-Fasth still looks extremely shaky to me. Wasn't impressed with his play in the first game and he's not doing much to change my opinions this game. Hopefully he turns it around quickly..

-Fowler is stupid good!

-The PP looked very dangerous despite not getting the puck in the net. Lets see if they can keep it up.

-Ryan at center is blah....

-DSP's effort looks better this game... Due to playing with his BFF????

Vatanen isn't competing for his spot, and has zero chance of uprooting him.

Another player ill praise is Etem. There isn't much separating him and Cogliano right now as a reference. If he keeps playing like this he'll definitely get a longer look. Starting to think these first few weeks are being treated like a pre-season by Boudreau. Still trying to get everyone their shots while still competing. I get the feeling that for that reason we might see Holland back.

Bro. I'll eat my entire jersey if Vatanen takes Fowler's spot.

No, I don't think we will. You take one period, and now Vatanen is going to be better? Who was the best defenseman on the ice again?

WTF is up with all these people hyping Vatanen. He has to be the most hyped prospect by Ducks fans in Ducks' history, or at least in the 5 or so years I've been here.

I can understand the excitement. I think he has world class offensive ability. It's going overboard though.
