If the leafs were any indication, this team has trouble with the speedier teams. Buffalo is one of them. I'm hoping PK is declared ready to go, because his wheels will be needed.

Also, it will be interesting to watch the penalty kill, to see if the habs tinker with their philosophy. Probably not, but I'm hoping to see some improvements.

If Therrien sits PK this game just to make a point, he's no different than how he used to be. Bottom line, PK in pre-season game shape is still way better than Kaberle in mid-season form any day. But enough of the bitterness.

Another big game against a division rival. The Sabres have been really good this year, and it's gonna take a hard fought game to beat them. Carey's back in net so there's that at least. We gotta come out banging and physical with these guys right off the bat.

I think it goes to OT.

IMHO this is a huge game for MT to motivate his team. Looking forward to an energetic and highly competitive match.

Reading between the lines, I think Subban comes back Sunday at the earliest.

As for Therrien being the same way he used to be, I'm not sure we can say that. MT didn't have the depth to send these kinds of messages to the early 2000's team. There really isn't any precedent for that here, unless you are talking about his time in pitt.

I'm more talking about the power-trip aspect than anything else. Players that get traded to other teams are more often than not automatically inserted into line-ups without knowing any systems or anything like that, so why would it be any different with Subban?

Well if Subban plays I wonder if he gets the tough match-up against Vanek. I don't really trust Emelin or Diaz with that task.

I highly doubt any team has the depth to scratch their best defenseman from the previous season, and certainly not the Habs. Therrien better put him in the lineup. Sure, he can mange his minutes somewhat if necessary at first, but Subban should be getting 20+min in the near future.

Even AC will be pissed if PK isn't in.

I'm not even saying it has to be Subban, he just happens to be the topic of the day.

I simply said there is no precedent for MT to send these messages to anybody of particular significance from the early 2000's team, but it might have had something to do with the lack of depth that the team had.

Gomez played his 1st game 3 days after signing his contract, Wade Redden 6 days.
Tomorrow is the 5th day after Subban signed his deal. If he doesn't play, Therrien is an idiot. I can't understand why this is even an issue.

Here's to a good game guys...they usually are close.

For whatever reason I can never "hate" the Habs like I can Boston, Ottawa, Philly etc...not sure why

I will be very ****ing pissed if Subban doesn't play. He is the most talented skater this team has!

That being said, I expect him to play.

I'd be quite surprised if PK isn't in the lineup today.

That said, I've gotta miss these weekend games due to work. Damn matinees
