Trade Briere + Timonen and get a 1st + good D prospect + 2nd or 3rd each

Pick Jones
Pick Zadorov
Pick Pulock or Morrissey

You wouldn't trade Simmonds for Jones?

I love Simmonds, but I'd drive him to the airport for the chance to draft any of the players in the top 5 of this draft, especially Jones and MacKinnon.

well, Simmonds alone isn't gonna do it, so I probably wouldn't want to any deal involving him, unless it's something ridiculous. I am super high on him though.

Players I'd be willing to trade :
Timonen
Briere
Knuble
Fedotenko

1st + good D prospect + another pick for each of Timonen and Briere
any pick for Knuble + Fedotenko

It's simply bewildering as to why Couturier is SO overvalued on this board. What has he shown to warrant this acclaim? When you watch him skate, he's slow as molasses.

Move Timonen for a 1st to a contending team.

Hypothetically (i dont actually think it will happen) Say we do finish last and end up with the 1st overall pick, draft Jones, and then use that second 1st to draft the best winger available. Id even really try and push Briere to waive his NMC if we're out of it at the deadline. I know he has his kids to worry about an a right to exercise his NMC but is at least try. if we're going to miss the playoffs, we need to stock up on picks, especially in what looks like a deep draft class.

I really like anthony mantha, I think he's exactly what this team needs. A big bodied sniping winger. I also really like Nikita Zadorov, Shea Theodore and Josh Morrissey for potential mid-late 1st guys.

Like I was saying earlier the kid can really fight too. The majority of the kids wins come from KO's. I was waiting until I got home so I can upload some videos from laptop.

interesting too see

if briere waves his nmc. man another first in this draft, would be good. options 1-5 jones or the big fin, he is 2nd rated dman, drouin. another option is the big russian center, very good defensivly, big strong, top notch offense. scouts say he can make plays in the game that just wow you. 6-10 hagg, zadarov 11-18 nurse and a nice big winger.

Valeri Nichushkin is the big russian forward you're talking about. He's rated 10th on Bob Mc's list on TSN, but he will likely drop in this draft like all russians do every year due to the "russian factor'. He was rumored to be interested in coming to the CHL over the summer but he signed a three-year deal with his club in russia few days before the CHL Import Draft. That three-year deal will probably have teams hesitant to draft him as high as he's rated.

Anyway this is a draft that if we do end up drafting top 10 I don't really care who we take. Pretty much every option is a good option. Even if we finish last and get a JVR style situation at least this year we can take MacKinnon and annoy Pens fans by saying he's better then Crosby

Zadorov is a 10-20 guy. If we are picking 5-10 im taking ramus or if drouin is there. Wait for one of the top 5 to fall and take them. I know we need defenders but some pretty good forwards in this draft.

From what i read physically and defensively the kid is NHL ready. But i heard he's probably better off spending an extra year with London to work on his offensive game.

What is it about Zadorov that you hate so much?

Seems like everybody's lists have him rising and in the top 10 but you always feel the need to chime in and say he's not good enough

Here's a video on the draft from TSN. It has some pretty good info on the upcoming draft. In the video Bob McKenzie breaks down his mid-season top 30 rankings, an interview from Seth Jones, a feature on Jonathan Drouin, and Craig Button gives 5 players based on certain attributes they possess.
