You know what's crazy...go into the Rangers thread. They seriously are having the exact same discussions as us. Pretty crazy how when things aren't going well, the finger gets pointed to the same things.
I don't get when people have serious aversions to using stats. Otherwise people just rely on their memories, which are usually nowhere near as good as they think they are, and confirmation bias often comes into play. Stats are just documentation of things that actually happened. Not what you think you remember happening.
Discounting stats is usually just a way of maintaining a belief despite having no evidence to support it and, often, plenty of evidence against it.
Because stats do not tell the entire story. They often lack context.
If you're checking if I'm the H word (hypocrite), I'll happily admit to being one.
If only there was a god of hypocrisy. I'd make sacrifices to him daily.
Based on your past posts and this current post, I'll keep it in mind never to take you seriously. I appreciate your honesty. It's one thing to admit that you change your mind on subjects as your opinions evolve (and thus look hypocritical from time to time), but it's another to just flaunt that you're unreliable and proud of it and possibly just trolling.
I think its time to start looking to can this guy. He is billed as some offensive genius but since the New Jersey series last year this team got exposed. Keep them to the perimeter. All teams do is keep us to the perimeter. That's why they get no scoring chances and when it goes to the point collapse because no defenseman on the damn team can ****ing shoot or get a shot through.
Team doesn't seem to want to battle for him.......his time is quickly expiring. No surprise and neither is this season although the injuries have just really killed the depth of this team but we should have more prospects to fill in some holes.
Flyers need to win the next couple of games and gain some momentum. Caps played the night before and once again the Flyers came out slow and let the Caps gain confidence. Really no excuse for that and it's the same crap over and over with this team no matter the personnel.....no sense of urgency to start and at times within the game.
I'm wondering if Lavy already lost the team, and they just aren't interested in his system anymore or playing for him, I mean it looks like it on the ice, you can't tell me the entire top 6 and defensive pairings are all having ****** years at the same time, just seems like there's more to it than we know, I think Paddock gets the job if they fire Lavy, maybe Murray is an outside shot too but something has to give, this team is way way too talented to be performing they way they are
Holmgren very unhappy w/club right now. "I'm concerned. We're falling behind here. We got to get going here."
This. And Lavy was angrier then I've ever seen him, you have to think its cause he knows they're playing for his job at this point. You could just see the disappointment on Homer's face. If the flyers don't string several wins together starting tomorrow I think he's done. It's a shame but I actually wanted to see a coaching change sooner. Don't get me wrong I like the guy and I think he's a hell of a coach but the system needs to change to accommodate our players abilities.
Reminds me of the comments made by the National Media about Andy Reid Can't wait to see that guy attempt to turn around the KC Chiefs... GOOD LUCK.
If someone wants Lavy and his 3 year max system, then they can be my guest. I'd never want a guy to coach my team who cannot seem to keep a job or keep his team effective for more than 3 years after he takes over.
