I did watch the games, your making it sound like he is automatic in the shootout which he is not. Anyways he is playing fantastic right now.

Been #1 Luongo fan since day 1.

I can't believe how you guys want to trade this guy, he's been stellar. Trade Schneider and they'll be no more pressure on Lu.

The pressure might be a good thing for him.

Why you think that? He'll be the go-to guy again and considering how fickle the Vancouver crowd is they'd turn on him on a dime as soon as he has a couple of bad games.

True, look at how good he was under pressure for Team Canada where he proved not every goalie could win with a Team Canada squad in front of you (Ex: Brodeur)

But the guys never been this calm since that 06-07 season, he looks like he's having fun again.

It boggles my mind that people assume we want to trade Luongo because of his performance, good or bad. He's an all-star goalie, but we have a future franchise goalie sitting on the bench as well.

Someone has to go, and Lu makes the most sense and will get the most value.

Not with that contract and the new CBA. Schneider would fetch more.

If this was true he would have already been traded. Lets think about it this way. The Canucks are in a win now mode, as in pushing to win a championship over the next 2-3 years. So naturally we would want to bring in a player or two that can contribute to that effort of winning a championship in the next couple years. What kind of team would want a 33 year old star goalie? A rebuilding team or a team who think they legitimately win a championship within the next few years? The team in a "win now" mode would want him (like the canucks), and they would be willing to give up picks/futures to acquire him because they want to remain as competitive as possible right now. Now what kind of team would want a 26 year old star goalie? Both the rebuilding team and the win now team would be interested, this greatly widens the trade market driving up the price, and it allows the possibility of a rebuilding team providing NHL level players for a Canucks Stanley Cup push.

Ultimately I just want the Canucks to have the best chance possible winning a Stanley Cup, and I believe that moving Schneider, if the return is right, can give them that chance.

What did I say to make it sound like he's "automatic"? He has clearly gotten better.

The shootout video is up. The fact that he made Toews, Kane, and Sharp look bad thus forcing Leddy to shoot it wide speaks for itself.

Good for him, I hope he plays well the rest of the season (it's the rest of the team I am hoping falters.)

He's gone from "overrated" and hated to underrated and loved.

Shootout at 4:00

Luongo has been much better in the shootout recently. It's just that the Canucks shooters are usually bad, so he has no margin for error.

Good saves on Toews and Kane.
Luongo played well all game.

However,
Sharp is just bad at shootouts. Look at his record.
Leddy? LOL, I think Q was just trollin' us.

Kane on Luongo "I think he's a great competitor and to be honest with you I'm glad he's doing well because he seems like a really good guy"

Looks like Kane is a fan, how times have changed.

I screamed the same thing when I saw him trot out there. All he does is attempt to snipe.

Toews and Kane, well they're already shootout kings in the league.

As a Canucks fan, compared to the players we can ice we will look at Patrick Sharp in the same regard.

Leddy is akin to our Edler

Was watching the game with my roommate. Soon as Sharp goes out there, the both of us just groan and say "alright, Crawford, gotta get this save in the next round."

4/27 in the past three years' worth of attempts. Brutal.
But I don't blame Sharp. I blame the dolt who keeps sending him out there...

Canucks are a below average team without him. Get outplayed almost every game.
