Dat pass by Kass, unreal patience, and great vision. Clearly has hockey sense and is not just some dumb goon.

He is going to be better than Bertuzzi, Bertuzzi was never this good at 22.

Loving what I'm seeing from Kassian so far. With that said though, he needs to get a faster first 3 steps. His top speed is good, but he's slow to get going. You could see it tonight when the Canucks had a chance for a 2 on 1 after he intercepted Hossa's pass, but he didn't have the quickness to take advantage of it.

He's an excellent skater that has breakaway speed. I think that was more to do with fatigue which is normal for the amount of minutes he's playing at this young age.

It would a concern if it was a regular hinderance.

Often Kass is the first guy back into the d zone and after playing deep in the other end.

I see next to zero issues with his skating. Unless of course the expectations are hes to compete with raymond for fastest skater.

The most under rated thing about Zack is just plain and simply how SMART he actually is. He continues to surprise me with his ability to anticipate and find the open man. He not only does it with the Sedins but all of them.

If he continues to improve his SMARTS, we could very well have bent the Sabres over badly on this one.

Pretty sure he was gassed after a long shift in that instance.

QFT. And Bertuzzi was a moody, under-motivated head case as a young player. Kassian seems mature, well-spoken, friendly, team-oriented, and smart by comparison. He just has to keep his feet moving, keep his focus, and keep up the healthy lifestyle and the serious off-season training and he'll become a star in the league. There's no question he already has a funny kind of charisma going for him.

I'd disagree; if Kassian keeps this up consistently, he'll be better than Bertuzzi was at 22. But Bertuzzi definitely showed his drool-worthy talent in spurts from a young age. It was the consistency that didn't come together until the 01-02 season.

EDIT: Definitely agree that Kassian has nowhere near the grumpy demeanour that Bert did, though.

It will be interesting to see the team when kes gets back. I think Kassian is showing more every game he can play on the top line.

I think Bertuzzi has more pure skill, but Kassian still has enough skill to be a really good player for us. I think Kassian has the edge in character and work ethic, exc. Maybe even consistency now? So if he can continue on with these things and continue to develop then he will bring things that make up for him not having quite the offensive talent Bert had.

Rangers are big fans of kassian.

I would remove one of my kidneys with a pair of pliers and proceed to eat it through a straw to get Kassian on the Rangers.

All Kass needs now is a Naslund and Morrison clone.

The absolute best upside for Jensen is Jeff Carter, I think.

He's a skilled player with a lot of talent and I hope he does well in Buffalo. And from everything his teammates have said, both in Vancouver and Buffalo, he's a quality guy in the dressing room.

This reminds me of Matt Cooke. A fan favourite, who lets say played on the 'edge', gets traded impart because AV doesn't like him, and slowly but surely many Canucks fans turn on him as well.

I'm not the first to see similarities in Schroeder and Morrison's games. Defensively responsible, speedy playmakers.

But, yeah, not a fan of those kind of projections. Not fair to either player.

I doubt Kass will be leaving the Sedins line even when everyone's healthy.

I would absolutely take Naslund when he was in his prime. His wrist shot was just deadly.

Yeah people forget how good Naslund was in his prime. Don't think Jeff Carter has ever been arguably the best player in the league in any season.
