Thanks for the hospitality Bokkies. Nonu, Gear, Carter, McCaw, Read, Smith x2 all fantastic.

Awesome to actually see Hosea get some good ball for once.

With Morne gone, the South African backline are running around like they've been reborn. They actually get to run around with the ball in hand rather than just watch Morne kick all game.

NZ put up 50 plus on Scotland but Scotland score 3 tries.
France destroy Australia 33-6 in Paris.
England start off shaky but dominate Fiji.
South Africa nip Ireland in Dublin.
Wales can do nothing offensively in a 26-12 loss to Argentina.
Italy beat Tonga in a tight game.
Samoa, U.S., and Japan are winners over Canada, Russia, and Romania, respectively.

Australia at +8 for their match against England this Sat. Some super super sick value there considering Australia are the better team

Ye Gawds, those uniforms that the Poms are wearing are just hideous.

BTW, I don't expect Robbie Deans to last much longer as the Wallabies Coach.

Scotland got a really good score by getting Maitland, he was never going to be a great All Black but he was still a really good winger at Super Rugby level, should be a nice attacking threat for the Scots if they can get him the ball.

I've always thought it might be a good idea to have a US/Canada conference.

I'd be looking at cities like maybe Salt Lake City (large Polynesian population), maybe the Bay Area (thanks to UC Berkeley being a big name in College rugby).

The Rugby season is already long enough on players without somehow cramming in trips to North America as well.

The North American teams would get destroyed, the time zone would mean ratings in Australia and New Zealand would be very low, who is going to stay up to crazy hours to watch the Chiefs or the Canes smack the crap out of some American team? New Zealand Rugby as a whole is already struggling enough financially without funding more international travel that would bring back little financial reward.

The USA and Canada as Rugby nations are a long, long, long, looooooooooong way away from being in a position for this idea to even be worth entertaining. It's much more likely that some form of Argentinian team would be integrated in since they are now in the Quad Nations or whatever we are calling it.

For the more knowledgeable rugby supporters on here.

If you had to hold a 32 club world cup (8 groups of 4 clubs)

1. Where would you hold it
2. How often would you hold the cup?
3. Which teams would you invite for the first world clup cup?

Australia - 4 clubs
New Zealand - 4 clubs
South Africa - 3 clubs
Ireland - 3 clubs
England - 3 clubs
France - 3 clubs
Scotland - 2 clubs
Wales - 2 clubs
Argentina - 2 clubs
Italy - 1 club
non Australian/Kiki Oceania clubs - 2 clubs
rest of world - 3 clubs

The Argentinian clubs, Oceana and rest of world would get destroyed by the rest, it wouldn't even be close. All the best Argies play in France or UK and the Pacific Islanders all play in NZ or Australia

I'd go with something like:

10 from the Super 15
8 from the English Premiership
6 from the Pro12
8 from French top 14

Or instead you could have all the teams that make the Heineken cup (20) plus 12 from the Super 15
You could do it every 2 years, and the teams that go would depend on the league tables from the previous season.

If the game was any longer Wales would have came back. Very Happy the Irish won. I think Wales need to wake up now against France but it will be tough on the road.

Ireland vs England up next sounds very tasty.

Thanks for the response. Where would you rate the Irish clubs (Munster, ect) is this World Cup?

So you wouldn't put even just 1 team in from Argentina? maybe an all star squad from the Argie league?

Using my format, if you took the top 6 teams from the Pro 12, going by the league table so far there would be 3 Irish teams (Ulster, Leinster, Munster) They are all good teams and do very well in the Heineken cup.

No I would not, the Argentinian league is not very good at all, like I said nearly all their national team players play for European clubs. Also, I think the Super 15 teams would dominate most of the European teams anyway, they are on a whole other level. I have no doubt one of the Super 15 teams would win this tournament.
