I was joking at first but I'm actually starting to like Domi. If he was a little taller he would go much higher and draw more interest but that puck possession and skill is good stuff. Reminds me of Matteau actually, although I'd have to watch him a little more obviously.
Lot of movement from the 20 to 40 spot in the draft though it seems.
Oh and anyone got more on Mantha? For some reason I really like that kid albeit a limited sample size of viewings.

Just putting this out there now if any season ticket holders won't be using they're draft tickets when the Devils issue them keep me in mind. I'll even pay for them if your not asking too much.
I'm scouting Mantha and he's gonna be my boy if I like what I see. My previous boys include Skinner and Josefson so I dunno if that is considered successful.
Targets coming into view based on where we pick...
picking 1-6 - obvious top 6 right now and you take the BPA.
picking 7 through 13 - 1st choice Hunter Shinkaruk, 2nd Zadarov (don't need D but guy could be next Chara)
picking 14 through 20 - 1st -Adam Erne, 2nd-Anthony Mantha, 3rd-Max Domi
picking 21 through 25 - 1st-Gauthier, 2nd - Fucale (BPA), 3rd Horvat
25 through 30 - can't forfeit, draft is in NJ. So 1st Valentin Zykov, 2nd-Duclair, 3rd-Connor Hurley.
Dind't mention Wenneberg, who seems to be a favorite here but I think we haven't had great luck with the swedes (Bergfors, Tedenby are likely busts, Yayo OK but we passed on a guy like Collberg last year tells you something)
We don't have a 3rd this year (Zidlicky) but I'm hoping we can pick up two forwards and then in the 4th, if a solid goalie prospect is still available, perhaps Tristan Jarry to add to the pipeline. Not sold on Kincaid and all our eggs are with Wedgewood.

Yes please to Nichushkin. With Gauthier getting spotted at the 11th spot in McKenzie's midseason rankings, and scouts suggesting he could even be a top-10 pick, I think he'll (hopefully) be gone by us. We need a boom/bust forward. We have enough "safe" guys in the system already, and could easily pick up more in the later rounds. We need someone that could potentially become a top forward. Haven't drafted a successful one since 2003.

Nichushkin could be the X factor in all of this. No one would have guessed that Grigorenko would have dropped out of the top 10 last year when he was ranked in the to 5 by most and he was playing in the Q and not the KHL. With Nik appearing largely in the 9-11 range, the "Russian factor" could see him drop to 15-17 as I'm not entirely sure his intentions. Thats a big big risk to take with a pick in the upper half and the shallow pool of forward prospects we have.
I realistically see us as a bubble team and think we will likely pick in the 13-20 range so he's a possibility, just not sure that he'd be my first choice at #13 but at #20, I'd definitely take a shot, just think a team like Columbus, with 3 first rounders, might be more inclined to take that risk.
Now, if Kovy comes out like Ovechkin did to announce the pick.....
Fucale is rocketing up the charts and if we can land a extra 2nd via a trade for one of our d-men, I wouldn't mind taking Fucale with our 1st and going for two forwards in the second round.
I didn't see him play all that much but the times I did, he really put on a show considering his blueline left him out to dry more times then you'd ever imagine.
With all the depth up front in this coming draft, we can snag a stud netminder in Fucale and still be able to select a solid forward in the second round.
I'm not against the idea of taking a forward in the 1st round but with all the talent, some kids will fall in the 2nd round and someone like Duclair, Zykov, Hurley, Carrier, Slepyshev aren't out of the question when talking about the 30 to 60 range.
