i don't hate him because of the accident. (though driving very fast and drunk is truly some terrible judgement) but for how he acted after it. i understand that it's a difficult thing to deal with the fact that you killed a friend, but the way heatley treated the atlanta fans, the snyder family, and the team and organization which all went out to bat for him and recommend to the judge that he not be imprisoned is disgusting, and he's proven several times over since then that he isn't that great of a person.

and the fact that he got off with nothing but a fine and some community service (which by the way he didn't even do in atlanta or even the united states) for something anyone who wasn't famous would have gotten years for is also disgusting.

I thought the Snyder family were the ones that took Heatley off the grill? Why on earth would he treat them like crap?!

Really? If you get in the car after a night of drinking to drive with a passenger that basically what you are doing. Heatley should be in jail like any other person serving time for it. What he did is just as bad because they all knew what they were doing at the time.

I know I'm a little early, but can somebody recommend a good bar or whatever to watch the SuperBowl in Manhatten?

Should be a good game tomorrow. I'm not as excited as usual though. Can't compare to last year of course, because I'm not a fan of either team, but it still doesn't really match up to previous years either.

He's right. When the biggest media draw is the coaches something isn't right. Outside of the two fanbases there isn't too much to get excited over. Other than one of Ed Reed or Frank Gore getting a ring I don't care much either.

Neither QB is a proven superstar. The story of this game will be the defences. Really doesn't make for a Super Bowl you can hype.

Joe Flacco is the best in the league. He said so himself

He's not as bad as Trent Dilfer, but if the Ravens win it still won't be because of him.

So if Flacco throws 3 TD passes and wins SB MVP he still wont get credit?

I am not a big Flacco fan but he has taken his game up another level and if he wins SB this year he will firmly establish himself in the tier 2 of QB's in NFL

Flacco is good enough to win on his own. Smith and Boldin is a strong 1-2 punch and he has Pitta. Of course the offense runs through RayRay though.

That's a big if. I'm still not convinced about him yet. The defence carries the Ravens. Always has.

There's something to be said for not having a 'black hat' team (Patriots), a Cinderella team (Giants the first Giants-Pats SB) or a marquee QB - though Kapernick probably gets there sooner rather than later, and Flacco could at least get on Eli's level with a win.

There's just nothing compelling for non-Baltimore or non-SF fans unless you're paying attention to Kapernick surpassing ALL the other more balleyhooed 'two-way' QB's (Wilson, RGIII, Newton) in the postseason. And that's okay - sometimes the best SB's are the ones that aren't hyped to the moon...see St. Louis/Tennessee or Pittsburgh/Arizona.

The defense was putrid at times this year. I remember Dallas just gashing them. The Ravens have a legitimate offense now

They had Ray, Ngata and Suggs hurt at different times this year, they're all healthy now.

they still aren't a good defense anymore.

Lewis and Reed are not anywhere near what they used to be

Was going to say, even fully healthy the Ravens D is a shell of its former self.

Still pulling for them though. I want to see Ed Reed get his ring.
