... that is if we re-sign Morrow next season. i understand he's been here his whole career and he's basically the future face of this franchise, but money and chances of winning always serve as decision-makers when facing free agency.

and realistically the stars now have the 2006-2007 season as their window to win the Stanley Cup. If we don't get it done next season we probably need to go through a re-building stage and I'm not sure Morrow would want to stick around for that.

Let's be honest: at the start of the 07-08 season Modano will be 37, Zubov will be 37, and Lehtinen will be 35.

we'll have marty so that should help us stay out of the league cellar but this team really needs to re-load with younger players and start drafting better. seems like the stars are trying to re-stock their team with younger players since the talk this off-season so far has been guys like lessard, polak, eriksson, smith, etc. will be given every chance to win a roster spot next season.

it actually looks like this next season will be the start of re-stocking the team with youth

If they're going to change captains, I'd honestly prefer they hand the designated leadership role over to someone not on the team now. Bring in someone from outside to change things up.
