So if we want to do push for draft what would be value to these players (picks):

Heatley - 2nd?
Bouchard - 2nd?
Setoguchi - 1st?
Cullen - 3rd?
Mitchell - 4th?

Very deep draft coming.

Dumba - all I've seen from him is a guy who goes outof his way to make big hits, and often takes him self out of position to do so. His passing/ puck handling seems only average.

Everyone keeps talking about how Dumba is ready to just step into the NHL now and be a top 4 player. I just don't see it at all. I think 3 years from now Dumba will be lucky to be in the top 2 d-man pairings. But, if he can spend a few years in the AHL, maybe he will learn and improve.

But at this point from what I've seen of Dumba, I will make the following"bet"

If Dumba plays regular 1st or 2nd pairing minutes next season for the Wild, I will change my avatar for the following season to a "I love Burrows/Sedins/Subban" avatar.

Or better yet, to a "Dumba is my hero" avatar.

(for those of you who always need to shove then past in people's faces, feel free to bookmark this)
You'll win that bet. Dumba, while in 3 years I DO think will be playing a top four role easily, needs some serious refining and forging in the AHL. He needs to put another ten to fifteen lbs on his six foot body, and learn that what works in the dub will not work in the AHL, and what works in the AHL will not always work in the NHL. He might be playing for us in two seasons, but he won't be a top pairing for 3 years.

Only problem is that he can't play in Houston next season...it's another year of Juniors (his 4th) or make the Wilds roster.

My bet is that he'll be ready to go next season.

Oofta. Yes he will be on the roster. That is unfortunate for him. (maybe)

Seriously though, Dumba never would have been drafted as high as he was if Flahr and Fletcher didn't think he had any hockey sense. So that's a bogus argument.

Another season of Juniors would do nothing for a player of his talents....it would be a complete waste of his time. He will be on the Wilds roster next season and you can bank on it.
Another year of junior could do him good. He's not exactly the best d-man in the WHL right now, couldn't even make team Canada at the WJCs. More time to work on the fundamentals and keep his confidence high is much better than throwing him to the wolves and potentially ruining him. Not like there's a spot on the right side of our D either.

Can't really envision Cullen being traded as we passed on trading Nolan a few years back out of respect for the player. Mitchell, no one wanted him for his contract in the off-season, and nothings really changed to make someone want that. Don't think Setoguchi can fetch a 1st if he continues to not score, though I do think there'd be interest in him around the league which could create a bidding war.

Really don't envision any plausible scenario where we'd be "selling" off more than 1 or 2 pieces. And those pieces would be going because they're not fits, not because we're "selling".

Tim Erixson comes to mind. Coyle for Erixon and a 2nd. Wild are gold.

The patriots have like 30 TE and they're pretty good. Lets just get at least 12 defenders.

Sorry, friend. But radical stances/overreactions sans accountability is a luxury none of us are afforded.

Kessel moving?

"There's scuttlebutt Phil Kessel, who has no goals this year, is on the block. First, Brian Burke, who acquired the former Gopher from the Bruins, is no longer the Toronto GM. Second, Kessel can become a free agent in July 2014."

Seto officially on block?

Indy_frank123: Any thoughts about the Wild trading anyone on the present team?

A : "Devin Setoguchi is on the trading block. He arrived in great shape, is much more physical but hasn't scored. Still, it's not easy trading a player coming off a career low in goals who makes $3.25 million next year."

I doubt Kessel comes here.

Some people have speculated that Kessel will get a 7-8 million dollar contract. If that was the case and the Wild want him, they'd wait until Kessel hits free agency, the same year as Heatley, and offer Kessel the contract Heatley has right now. And IMO, its not worth it.

And Seto can't be moved right now. He just doesn't have the value he should.

I don't want him here.

Not to mention, the Wild would probably have to give too much.

Kessel? Oh hell no.

Trade Seto + Mitchell + ? ('13 2nd?) for Nathan Horton.
