He said the #1 reason he kept them is because he enjoys working with them.
Is that a good reason to keep a gm/coach? I guess so if your an owner that wants to be involved in everything, but IMO not if your trying to win a cup. I think the owner should just care about results.
Kind of reminds me of Ralph Wilson, who only hired people he could work with and would involve him.
Would it make you feel better if he didnīt like working with them?
I disagree with 15 years of suffering. I think the sabres are a new team now and lindy didn't get the memo. sabres need to change and lindy want's the same old same old
I dont, he referenced Joe Paterno, who took like 20 years to win a Championship. Pegula is going to stick with these guys for a long time. He sees a nice working environment, everyone gets a long, he even said there no egos.
Obviously there are no egos, no one has won anything to have an ego Terry!
More recent quotes from Pegula/Black on these guys...
Pegula said at Darcy's extension conference that he talks to Darcy more than anyone else in the organization, including Ted Black. I don't think Darcy's going anywhere.
At the same press conference, Pegula gave a long, convoluted answer to a question about Ruff, saying that Ruff's strength as a coach was being able to change his approach if needed. I took this as Pegula acknowledging that Ruff's approach in the past did not work and that he has to change but that may be reading a bit much into it.
Also, Ted Black when pressed on Ruff on WGR the other day said that no employee ever has 100% job security.
The late time-out in Boston, the failure to pull Miller after the 4th goal today, the non stop line juggling...it makes me wonder if Ruff is paying attention sometimes. Regier, at the very least, needs to pull Ruff in the office for a head check.....
What the heck was wrong with the timeout in the Boston game? He put out Scott to answer their line change and ensure nothing went down at the end of the game.

Yo, don't poke the Bearbait. No problems with the timeout.
