Doesn't matter...

Put them out there as a pair...or split them....they're both still making mistakes and will cost team.

Because the coach has absolutely nothing to do with things like "How the players play"

Oh wait, that's his entire job.

Did he have his guys ready to play today?

The ****er kept his timeout in his back pocket.

No accountability for keeping our 2 worst dmen together.

Yes, but you're not going to trade the whole team. If that is what Beerz is arguing, fine. Doesn't make up for the ****** job that Ruff has done for the past 5 years.

If Darcy brought in you and I to play defense as the 7th and 8th healthy D men on the roster, and Lindy played us, it's still our fault we're losing??? That's insanity.

Do you read anything else? The players are getting plenty of blame too. At the end of the day, most of the "rochester core" has been turned over and the team still isn't any good. How many times do we have to keep turning the players over until we change the coach?

This team is better than this, everybody didn't magically decide to suck. Way too many players are playing the worst hockey of their careers right now. You can't just magically drop half the team and get a bunch of guys.

You can fire a coach and hire a new one inside of a week. THat's the only meaningful change that can be enacted for at least this season.

Timeout and a goalie switch has turned around 2 different series against this very team coached by Lindy Ruff, ask Peter Laviolette.

I can see the logic there, but then that puts the blame on Regier, who was just extended. You can't blame a player for being what he is, but you CAN blame a coach for playing a player when he's clearly not good, and he has other options.

Except most of them are good hockey players.

I'm placing the lions share of the blame on Ruff because these guys are consistently underprepared, but accountability goes all the way around.

No one is advocating for Ruff. Some people just like to point out that when players suck, it's on the player, not anybody else, just the player. When I have days at work when I just don't feel like doing anything and mail it in, it's on me, it's not because my boss is stopping me from giving 100%.

We get it. Many of you think firing Lindy Ruff would solve all of this team's problems. We get to read it in practically EVERY. SINGLE. POST. It's like a broken record.

It has gotten old. Does anyone have anything intelligent to say other than OMGZZZ F1RE L!!!!!NDY RUFF????

So does anyone think there is hope for Tyler Myers? Can he really be this bad??

My argument is this....

You guys are reaching at straws thinking that Ruff is the problem.

The problem is we have one scoring line and one decent defensive pairing.

Right now this team is all potential.... could pan out...might not.

I can blame him for turning in a **** show of a game when I know damn well he is capable of better. Like I said, you can't absolve the players. Yes, Lindy AND Darcy take some of the blame. But the players HAVE to be held accountable too. And they aren't right now. That's a problem.

And?

You do realize this is a situation where there is no right or wrong call.

Phil Jackson was famous for not calling timeouts when his team was sucking...and having them play thru adversity.

Again...no right or wrong here.

Grasping at straws? Look at the product. Same problems year in and year out regardless of players on the team. That falls on the coach. After 15 years, even though Lindy is a decent coach, at best the message has gotten stale.

So you're saying Ruff isn't the problem right? Give me a break. It's not purely on him, but he's not faultless either, and when it comes to moving players or the coach, you move the coach. Plain and simple. Except in Buffalo, where our management is okay with mediocrity. Just as it seems the fans are.

A coach micromanages his "employees" way more than your boss does. If your department is doing badly and nobody is performing up to expectations, do you dump the whole department first? Or do you get rid of the manger whose job it is to ensure that everybody get their job done?

Nobody thinks firing Ruff is the way to magically fix this team, but it's a start. They've been average to below average for three years now. Lots of guys are playing the worst hockey of the careers right now. That's on the coach. Sure the players aren't playing well, but you can't just fire the players and get new ones.

We've changed the players, we dumped the "rotten rochester core", every-bodies favorite pincushions are gone (Roy, Connolly, Gaustad, Lalime). At some point you have to take a look at your coach. They aren't winning, they haven't been winning for awhile now.

Haha ok. Maybe 15 years of mediocrity is your cup of tea but it isnt mine.

Ya cant just dump a whole team of players... might wanna look elsewhere.

ok, hold them accountable then. Leopold and Myers are clearly, even to anyone who barely knows hockey, hurting this club. The coach has to try other options.
