Tanking with this team? I wouldn't. Those who persist are pessimists, even masochists, lowly worms who feast on decomposed organic matter.

Eller - Desharnais - Pacioretty

Cole needs to reflect on his career right now.

He looked like he was thinking about his retirement plans on the ice today.

Agreed, this is a way to keep the bottom line fresh anyway.

Maybe he wants some time off to go deal with his family... let's give him that.

He look's better than Stamkos and JT in their first years ATM.

(Not implying anything here.)

Hopefully, this games serves as a springboard for Eller and Desharnais. If confidence is the key issue, which I believe it is, this should be the start of a good stretch for both.

Buffalo was awful. They could have had many more penalties than they actually got. But good on Montreal for jumping on them. The habs have consistently drilled opponents that are not ready to compete hard this year. You could not say that very much last year.

I know the sample size was small on the PK today, at least when the game actually mattered, but the PK looked bad. Thankfully, Price was very good, but there are some games that Budaj is going to play, and we cant expect him to bail the team out in the same way. Teams are pretty much doing whatever they want against the montreal PK, and the habs also have a hard time making easy clearing plays, which adds to the frustration. I hate to sound like a broken record, but this aspect has to improve for montreal to make any noise this year.

Patcioretty should and will stay on the first line. Tough decision there for Therrien. It would be really nice to keep Eller going by giving him quality minutes, with quality players. But i has well would not remove Prust from the kids line. Although if you do, it would look very good:

Patchioretty - DD - Cole
Gionta - Plekanec - Bourque
Gallagher - Galchenyuk - Eller
Moen - White - Prust

I disagree... Cole sits Eller stays on the 1st. He did good today, a better performance than Cole ever had this year. His only good play was in the game vs NJ when he drew the penalty.

So, who ends with the most points? Galcheynuk or Plekanec?

They are not sitting Cole, and not removing him from the first line. Although i agree with you he is having a slow start this year like last year.

The Great

- Pleks and Bourque are a great combo and on fire.
- DD finally doing what he should be and Eller belong on the wing end of discussion.
- Galchenyuk and Gallagher are great together and whoever ends up beside them.

The Bad

- Emelin and Diaz looked awful, Markov is making both look better than they are.
- Cole needs to get his act together.

Everyone else didn't stand out a lot and I can't give too much credit against a half dead Buffalo team.

Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta
Prust - DD - Cole
Eller - Galchenyuk - Gallagher

What a joke. The Canadiens are one of the worst teams in the league. On paper we have the better forward, and the better defense-core. This team needs a wake up call. Everybody not named Vanek and Pominville need to have a boot shoved up their *****.

But it's a great start. Much better than i expected
A 1-2 patch would leave them at 6-4, still better than was predicted. The Habs rebounded from a thrashing by one division rival by thrashing another. The Sabres were unable to come back the way they did against the Bruins. I admit I'd like to see the Leafs trounce the Bruins tonight.
