Except if you bump Zubie down that line becomes a 3rd line , not the 4th

Our best players aren't playing as what they are. They need to step it up.

Please Lou, get us a third line as well, even though CBGB have played pretty good.

If Butler is used in a bottom 6 role IMO it's a waste, he's just not that type of player.

It works if, and only if, Darche is signed.

If not, still missing a winger.

Top 6, bottom 6... somehow we need a winger of some sort.

And is Darche really a third-liner, or just another fourth-liner masquerading as a third-liner? I don't know what to really expect of a Zubrus-Josefson-Darche line, when Zubrus is your big offensive player that's a huge ? of a line. I guess it's better than what they have now but still.

Come on man why are you so down on Butler? For all we know he may suck, but really he's the best option we have before making a trade. We already tried Tedenby, and you see how long that lasted.

Put him with Josefson, get an actual NHL caliber LW in there and that's a solid 3rd line.
CBGB is officially a 4th line again.

The biggest problem with scoring right now is that with 2 4th lines, there are some major match up problems. It's easy to cut off top end scoring and out muscle the bottom lines.

Ice a respectable 3rd line that isn't CBGB, a lot of those problems go away.

Henrique wasn't exactly turning heads in the AHL either. AHL stats are 100% irrelevant, good or bad.

Butler's AHL numbers 84 GP 38 goals 22 assists.

Tedenby's AHL numbers 77 GP 18 goals 26 assists.

There's a difference between comparing one guy who has proven he can play in the NHL (Henrique) to two that haven't (Butler and Tedenby). The first guy's just trying to stay in shape. All you really have with Butler and Tedenby are AHL numbers - and Butler's limited NHL success two years ago compared with Tedenby's lack thereof. Butler's been a lot better this year and as such should at least get a chance.

To be completely fair to the comparison, it didn't look like Henrique was going to stay either. He'd been sent down to Albany again before injuries forced them to take another look.

I thought he was referring to Henrique's numbers 'this' year.

Might be, but the overall scope is applicable to the comparison, I feel.

It's not different at all. My only point is that you don't need to put up points in the AHL to succeed in the NHL.

I'm not against Butler getting called up. I'm just saying the two leagues are different.

Time to spread out our key players instead of playing two good lines. We need to roll three decent lines.

Josefson Henrique Kovalchuk
Elias Zajac Butler
Zubrus Carter/Gionta Clarkson
Barch Carter/Gionta Bernier

I must be a genius because that lineup looks much better.
