I'm not sure, but at any rate those clauses can only kick in once he reaches the UFA years (while he is still in his RFA years, there are no clauses). That's how the Flyers were able to trade Jeff Carter, they moved him before his NTC could kick in.

Sabres lose both of those deals pretty easily. Morrow's been as bad as Leopold, so adding anything makes us clear losers. And Stafford for O'Brien? I know people like to harp on Staff here, but he's a legitimate 2nd liner and one of the more physical players in our top 6.
