History of Malkin's top 5 dirtiest plays

Ok, just for effect. Imagine if Ovechkin swung his stick and tomahawk'd Crosby across the cranium like Malkin did to Staal on Thursday nights game against the Rangers. (Pens fans) What would the backlash be like then?

First off we can agree Mario & his merry men would be in an utter outrage demanding he be banned for life. And we could also agree Ovechkin would have served a hefty fine and suspension.

The fact that Malkin's latest despicable act isn't even warranting a review is a joke. You can say its because it actually DOESN'T warrant a review, but you would be wrong. Using your stick as a weapon (which is what he did) ALWAYS warrants a review, especially in this day and age. So why didn't it?

Bottom line is
Malkin is one of the dirtier players in the league and has a history of receipts to prove it.

We'll start at number 5:
Slewfoot on Paul Mara right in front of the ref. No penalty, no post review.

Number 4:
Elbows to Moore's head at the end of a 6-3 game. No penalty, no post review.

Number 3:
Low bridging Lecavalier.
Malkin ducks under a simple hit then runs away avoiding the fight.
Lecavalier's understandably angry, comes after Malkin chirping in his ear prompting Malkin to jump back and throw an elbow at his head (failing miserably)
Again, no penalty, no post review.

Number 2:
Boarding Mitchell- Rendering him out for the season. No penalty, no post review.

And at number 1:
Using his stick as a weapon (via Staals cranium.)
You got it folks, no penalty, no post review.

Amazing isn't it?
Any predictions when this guy is going to be held accountable for his actions?

Comments?

Opinions?

.

His cheapshot on Mitchell is the worst by far.

Great work OP

He will never be held accountable because he's not a "repeat offender" (lol)

This is far more dirty than those...

Also there is nothing dirty about number 3. It's called avoiding getting your head taken off.

He was given a penalty for number 1

And didn't he kick some during the WJC & get thrown out?

Malkin is a dirty player. When he gets harassed, he'll often make a play that crosses the line. I don't really consider the 3rd play in the OP to be dirty, though. The rest I would. He also does get away with it more often than not, due to his star power. Is that right? I'm not going to get into that, but that's definitely the way it is in this league and others.

I prefer these types of posts...they bring out the deepest of emotions. He's one of the best players in the world and has a bad temper. Its really no secret he loses it sometimes.

In all seriousness, most of that stuff was pretty bad, especially the shot on Simmonds.

But I'm never going to see anything wrong with Lecavalier play, he dodged a hit, big deal.

This definitely isn't his worst but just adding to the thread http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZCr7lNDd6U Edit: it's just the same video as above.

Star players don't get suspended as easily.

Also, he plays for a team that draws a huge casual fan viewing. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten any supplementary discipline yet, but I believe both are factors.

Then care to explain why the OP - with a whooping 23 posts under their belt - started this thread?

Well, to be fair he did get a fine for the forearm on Simmonds.

Funny, it looks like the OP is a Caps fan. He even mentions Ovechkin in the first post. And because he does I present him with another history lesson...

My personal fave is the one on Brown and then he cowers on the ice clutching his head and then goes to whine to the ref after Brown scores on the PP.

What does this have to do with Malkin and his cheap shots?

OP seemed like a history buff. Thought he might like another lesson to compare dirty old Malkin to another dirty player.

Thanks Mr Cherry. Amazing you find the time to follow Malkin like this. Funny how every team would trade a boatload for him. I guess he just has to take cheap shots and never retaliate for some players taking liberties. Yes i would prefer a world class talent drop the gloves and break his hand on some plug. Real smart. Staal tries to hammer him as he is at least five feet from the play that is over. No it is not enough to just move him away, he has to come up high and try to take his head off. Maybe Stall deserved to have his head on a stick for that play.
