Right now I think Brennan-Pysyk might be better than Myers-Leopold.

Perhaps a bit of hyperbole, but perhaps not.

Another thing.... I'm not sure I like Hodgson as any type of NHL player.

He is soft on the puck, bad on face-offs (although he did better today), makes poor decisions with the puck and has a shot that doesn't seem to go in the net unless it hits another part of his body first.

I liked the Hodgson for Kassian trade at first... I'm not sure we couldn't have done better.

He has 4 goals in 8 games. I'll take a 40 goal man through luck

This is Hodgson's second season in the league and the first where he's been on a consistent line.

This sums it all up rather well.

As we speak, the cover story for this season is being written by the franchise.

"Transition year", "young and inexperienced at key positions", "no training camp hurt us more than others", "shortened season really hurt; not enough time for a comeback" and so on...

Until Pegula goes from jock sniffing fan boy to a professional, objective owner, there is not much cause for getting excited over this team.

Really????

What has he done to earn that? Do they hand those out now for potential?

Yes, and two of them hit him and caromed into the net. I see a team without a #1 center.

The poster misunderstood capgeek. Myers' NMC/NTC doesn't come into play until 2016-2017 season because players with less than certain amount of NHL experience (which I believe mirrors the UFA criteria) can't have an NMC/NTC.

Every damn time.

Sabres get stupid after winning a big game. They win 7-4 against the B's and they skate into Montreal like gods...and then BAM they lose.

Thankfully, I missed this one. First one I've missed all year.

Apparently, Miller and Enroth both had an 81% save %. Not good. Although having watched this team, I'd guess our defense, likely Myers and Leopold were horrendous.

Season is far from over but there's not much in surprises here. We knew they sucked at centre. The D is weaker than I though but I think that will improve. Miller is what he always has been, a career .915 goalie who has lived off his reputation from one big season, an Olympics and one solid playoff in 2005-06. He gets hot and he's a top 15 goalie but he's no superstar.
The Ruff factor is what hurts. He's just overrated. What player has he made truly great? Somebody tell me. His best coaching job is clearly 2005-2006. The year we made the finals is all Hasek.
Once again, Ruff he didn't have his team ready. How else can you explain 1st period. Maybe you run out of gas late but they were flat from the get go. That's what disturbs me.

Pardy-McNabb is better than 3-57 right now.

Can you please watch some games before making a comment as unintelligent as this one.

He technically has one, but it will not be active until he's 26.
Until then, it's simply a handshake agreement, which is officially meaningless.
If he's traded before the clauses kick in, they are null and void.
Thanks for pointing that out. So essentially when he is eligible he will just have the modified Ntc where he can list 8 teams he can't go to like Poms has in his contract. Damn cap geek

Considering we paid Myers 12 million in cash this year he only has 26.5 million over 6 years left on his deal which would make him easier to trade. I don't see Darcy trading Myers though.

he's centering one of the hottest lines in the league...sorry he's not wayne gretzky?

And there's no way Myers gets traded guys. Ruff will get ****canned way before Myers gets traded.

I agree. The only thing i can really think of that would change this team would be a new coach or a trade. They need a tough guy who can score on the 2nd or 3rd line imo. Get rid of one of the little guys. Substitute him for a brick wall who can put the puck in the net.

We've got two of those -- Foligno and Ott.

That's not really an issue, IMO.

They need anyone who can score. Offense was a huge problem last season and Regier did nothing over the summer to fix it.
