Ryan Strome, Kirill Kabanov, Johan Sundstrom. They don't have problems putting the puck in the opponents net, they have problems keeping it out of their own.

Hence i'd pick Mackinnon, but i'd seriously consider Drouin because of hockey sense. Both before Jones.

I think center is a more critical postion than all other.
I disagree, number one defensemen are harder to find, especially one's of Jones caliber. Only Weber, Doughty and Pietrangelo compare to his all around game.

First line centers in the NHL:
Sidney Crosby
Evgeni Malkin
Niklas Backstrom
Steven Stamkos
John Tavares
Claude Giroux
Henrik Sedin
Jamie Benn
Jonathan Toews
Anze Kopitar
Joe Thornton
Patrice Bergeron
Jason Spezza
Eric Staal
Brad Richards
Pavel Datsyuk

That's 16 first line centers I count, and to be honest you can consider this a conservative list, I'm leaving out a lot of players people would consider a first line center (Mike Ribeiro, Ryan Getzalf, Logan Couture, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, David Backes, Mikko Koivu, Patrick Elias etc).

Now let's count number one defensemen:
Shea Weber
Zdeno Chara
Drew Doughty
Erik Karlsson
Brian Campbell
Ryan Suter
Keith Yandle
Kris Letang
Duncan Keith

A similarly conservative list, I count only 9 number one defensemen. Like the first line forward list, I leave out a lot of fringe ones, like Streit, Edler, McDonagh, Markov, Erik Johnson, Boyle, and Enstrom.

Goodbye Neon Dion hellooo Seth Jones

On paper at least, Jones is the ideal partner for our beloved Morgan Rielly...

Drafting the injured Rielly over Grigorenko last summer indicates we will go the BPA route...shocking, I know.

I think the problem is your list of Defensemen is they don't include Erik Johnson, Victor Hedmen, Gudbranson, Bogosian, Thomas Hickey, Karl Alzner etc. meaning only one on your list was a top 5 pick.

Brian Campbell is an excellent player, but he's not a #1 Dman. He's a top pairing guy, but he's not a #1.

Awards:
Canes: BPA (probably Jones). No pressing needs up front or on D but could always use another top notch player at either.

Yeah people seem to forget that normally drafting a defenseman high is a lot riskier then taking the best forward in general.

Jets takes McKinnon

Then the jets name will be worth it
First line of
Kane, McKinnon, wheeler would be awesome that is super fast line

We trade one of the top nine forward and a prospect to get an elite shutdown d to be paired with bogo

Ducks can take MacKinnon ... At least I wish

Could come down to personal preference or need for a team, but it looks like more would take Jones atm ... Teams that take MacKinnon without question right now would be Florida and Phoenix ... A lot of other question marks but NYI, Calgary, Nashville and Winnipeg probably do too ...

No doubt in my mind that the Caps would take Jonathan Drouin over MacKinnon at this point.

Put him on Ovechkin's line and you have the best Top 6 in the entire league when Kuznetsov jumps ship:

Ovechkin, Backstrom, Drouin
Forsberg, Ribeiro/Johansson, Kuznetsov

Mackinnon for the Panthers is a no-brainer IMO. We need offense sooooooo bad.

I'm curious how you know this? All I can assume about my team is that they go the BPA route and with Jones being the consensus BPA I think odds are they'd go with him but I really have no idea if they think he's better than Mackinnon or even Drouin...

The Penguins have enough D-prospects for my lifetime.

Ray Shero announces Seth Jones.

I would hope the Rangers took MacKinnon

nothing against Jones, but we have lacked a legit forward like this for way to long.

As a Pens fan: I take Drouin to play on Crosby's wing.

As a Jets fan: I take MacKinnon so I have a legitimate #1 Centre going in to the future. MacKinnon/Scheifele is a pretty good 1-2 punch, imo.

Hate to say it but Drouin is nor the BPA or Best forward ... Take MacKinnon if you're set on taking a forward and convert someone else to wing ... OR take a gamble and put MacKinnon at RW.

With the talent there I think it is a tough call. Have a great D-man, Centre, and Winger.

But, I'd have the Leafs take MacKinnon. Have needed that top center since Sundin left and the #1 pick would be the way to resolve that problem.
