R. Smith ice time... 8:37; behind only Vincour and Garbutt.
I feel like that probably wasn't Joe's plan for him being called up.

Take that sound reason elsewhere you heathen!

Ugghhh I really hate to look like a Morrow crusader here, but once again he didn't look bad to me. He had a few bad passes, as did alot of players. He also set up Jags a couple of times, nicely.. I don't know, I definitely don't think he should be on the first line, but that line was really the only one that did anything.I think he has benefited from the cut in ice time/ looked faster.. Also as the game went on Benn and Jags definitely seemed to click a little more. Still have no clue what to make of those two playing together, but it looked decent as the night went on... this team as a whole though?....no chemistry

The game is 1-0, Ryder goes after a good hit, Hanzal cheats on the face-off and they score.. The points were there, just needed a bounce or MAYBE ONE GOD DAMN POWER PLAY.. The penalites were 0-7 Stars in that game...

Extending shifts isn't a good thing.

We also did a horrible job of drawing penalties. After the midway point, i was waiting for the make up calls but the Stars did nothing to draw penalties. Refs can't just start pulling calls out of their behinds when there is no effort being made to draw penalties. 4 total shots on lines 2-4 is just bad, i dont know what to say about that. 20 total seconds of power play time will not win you the game. I think there were hints of chemistry on the top line of the PP on the first b2b game when coach took on Morrow on the top line and had Loui Benn & Jagr.. they kept the puck in the offensive zone for 1:40 seconds straight and had a lot of great chances.

Oh yeah ... and there's not much wrong with this team per Gully. The penalties lost them the game.

EDIT: I think he went with ... "Not alot broke"

Great soundtrack.
Good sets.

Hmm... Maybe I should be a movie critic. Seems kind of easy. Just sit back and ***** about everything. Kind of like how I do on this forum a lot of the time.
Bad because Hansel was away in the southern United States dominating the Dallas Stars. Those are the same guys right?

Even if the refs blew a couple of calls, there were so many brain dead stupid penalties that I can't see the point of talking about the refs. This roster is full of lazy morons.

At some point, results matter over effort. That top line may have produced the most chances, but they didn't score. Morrow hasn't been a factor. The Benn-Jagr combo hasn't produced a thing.

Exactly. There's no doubt that the Stars were the less disciplined team out there. As usual.

Oh I agree. In fact I still am not sure what I think of Benn-Jagr. My point is just that of all the lines/ players to blame for tonight, none of those 3 should really be on the list, at least compared to anyone else.

Does anyone miss the net more than Trevor Daley?

Penalties.

Refusal to change things up when they obviously are not working. I'm still waiting for some coaching to occur.

Perhaps we should send Olesiak back down before he helps prevent us from getting a top 10 pick cause this team is going nowhere.

Bad defense, pathetic offense with a penalty parade equals a horrific watching experience.

Jagr and Benn do not work and Morrow riding shotgun doesn't improve anything with Roy and Whitney gone. Smith with 9 minutes cannot be what anyone on the development side thinks is a good idea.

Morrow looked OK tonight, but had 0 SoGs and didn't show anything to beleive that he belongs more than giving a kid a shot.

Gulutzan saying they'll pay for it in practice... thinly veiled threat of a bag skate? Very confused by that comment.

Ugly ugly game. Wasted a good effort from Bachman.

Morrow had 1 SOG, I distinctly remember it.

Eriksson-Benn-Ryder
Whitney-Roy-Jagr
Roussel-Eakin-Garbutt
Morrow-Fiddler-Nystrom
(Vincour)

Dillon-Robidas
Oleksiak-Daley
Goose-Larsen
(Benn)

I'd like to see something like that when everyone on the team is healthy. The D pairs might need to be changed but Rome and Benn have no business playing over Larsen and I like those three energy guys on the third line. I'd like to keep Smith up but I just don't see that happening with Gully. Those three guys on the 4th line are starting to make me mad because they're taking spots from better and younger players.

We should probably see what we can get for Wandell and Rome.

Yeah it was the first shot of the game. Shot it right into the belly of Smith. I commented early in this thread about being thankful he didn't score haha.

What's sad is the Stars actually looked pretty great in the 1st period. One coach adjusted his gameplan and motivated his troops in the locker-room. The other let his team take 4 penalties in one period.

Gully didn't let his team take four penalties. That's not on the coach.
