It's kind of ridiculous that the Flyers have so many back to backs when the scheduled isn't condensed as much as it was just cut in half. If you look at the schedules, most teams still play pretty much every other night. Why are the Flyers playing nearly half the season in a back to back scenario? Perfect example: They played Tuesday, had two days off for tonight, to play again tomorrow night after travel. They've also gotten boned on having to play a couple times already without 24 hours in between starts.

Of course everyone on the main boards misses the point...the point being that a divisional rival has a markedly easier schedule.

The main board is not for rational discussion. Let me guess, flyers fans are whiners and conspiracy theorists?

Not even that. Western Conference fans are saying no team in the East has any right to complain about travel. I don't think anybody read his post, much less thought about it critically.

I get so tired of hearing about that crap. It's not like these guys are flying on a FedEx plane from Vancouver to Anaheim. Whatever, the main boards are known for ignoring any rational thought. They would rater out-troll each other for twenty pages until the thread is inevitably closed.

Winnipeg to Florida. Especially since they are technically division rivals, unlike something like Edmonton to Dallas.

I thought the Simmonds / Erskine thread was hilarious. I lost count of the variations on "Erskine needs to be suspended ... and I HATE the Flyers!"

I like the other thread on why we're so horrible personally. It starts out bashing the flyers, then to bashing giroux, then to complaining why giroux made the cover on NHl 13, to complaining about the flyers tanking to get seth jones, and then back to bashing giroux. It's pretty good for a nice laugh if you have time to read through all of it.

3-on-3 is so awesome. Just had it for 35 seconds in the Sabres/Habs game

In that 35 second span there were three 2-on-1s and a breakaway

Welcome to the Crosby show Devils. I watched some of the game but NHL Network was using the Pens feed and I don't care for their announcers.

The main boards (obviously) had a thread on the ridiculous dive of Crosby's. I commented how silly he looked sitting on his rear with his feet straight out in front of him, looking like a 3-year-old starting a tantrum.

How about the Northeast Division beating the hell out of each other this year? Almost every team loaded up with tough guys and agitators this summer, some of them are still adding guys too.

NHL rescinds match penalty to Blues' Backes

The National Hockey League rescinded the match penalty assessed to St. Louis Blues forward David Backes in the game Friday night against the Detroit Red Wings.

Backes received a match penalty for an illegal hit to the head of Detroit's Kent Huskins at 9:38 of the third period. Replays appeared to indicate that no contact to Huskins' head was made.

Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk scored the game-winning goal on the ensuing five-minute power play in an eventual 5-3 victory.

Eric Lindros was once given a game misconduct in Chicago for slashing Chris Chelios. Bad call. Colin Campbell made the decision to rescind the penalty, otherwise Lindros would have been suspended a game.

Jack Johnson just played 35 minutes out of a 60 minute game for the Jackets. Talk about overworking your top d-man DAMN.

I know he's a rookie but they could really use Ryan Murray in their lineup.

Sounds like a good way to piledrive him into the dirt.

No shock the Pens get a very late 5 on 3 to end the game.

I'm not sure I like having all my big guns out there with less than a minute left and 5 on 3 PP. I know anything can happen with a 2 goal lead but I rather have my 2nd unit out there instead of risking an injury to Crosby, Malkin, or Neal. Just my opinion though.

The officiating has gotten even more out of hand.

Sens just got screwed on a "goalie interference" call that negated a goal that would have tied the game.

These incidental contact and goalie interference calls that negate goals should be reviewed. It's ridiculous
