No chance
hasn´t grown up, not great skater for his size and lacks those special skills necessary for smallish forwards(while having good skills)

What do you people think of Alex Pisarik? How does he compare to Kokes?

Czechexpert has said :

Svoboda, Nemecek, Kohout are nothing special, Kokes, Dvorak, Zadrazil and Harkabus are pretty bad, Pisarik can´t skate.
Mandat is promising as he is very talented but doesn´t work hard without the puck.
Anyway, Kokes is in nomination U18 5 nations tournament, feb 6-10. Next 2 defenders will nominated after camp. Pisarik can hope...

Pisarik is much better with puck, his hockey sense is actually fairly solid. But he is knock-knee skater, very slow.
Pisarik is not NHL prospect at all.

Kokes is really afraid of playing with the puck. He has good size, that´s all. Not very physical, average skater(hardly average), ca´t move the puck, nothing.

If I have to say one Czech D than I would mention Lukas Klok from Vitkovice who came basically out of nowhere. Like him, could be late sleeper pick if performing well at international stage.

Daniel Pribyl seems to be breaking out in an important way. Has he been used differently in the last few games? How much ice time does he get? Any on the PP?

Did anyone predict the success of the mass exodus of Czech goalies to the CHL? Did they look as promising back in the Czech Republic as they have shown in North America or have many come out of nowhere? (Bartosak, Machovsky, Polivka, Mrazak etc )

I think almost all of them were consider as ones of best czech goalie prospects that time here in Czech republic already. Well, maybe it was little surprising that Bartosak has been doing THAT good in CHL for example.
But all in all, I wouldn't say "coming out of nowhere" is suited for any of them.

He's been playing mostly in 3rd line. Not sure about PP. I'd say he's getting some but not much.

Great news!!

Petr Mrazek has been called up to Detroit. People are thinking that he'll get the start on Thursday.

What about Vojtěch Tomeček? Statistically he is the best forward of HC Energie KV in MHL. He also looked pretty good in WJC (in his limited role and ice-time) and he is just one month and few days away to be eligible for 2013 Draft (for the first time). Do you think he has a chance to be drafted as an overager?

Hi everyone, the U16 recently won a tournament in Russia (8.2 - 10.2.2013) finishing before Sweden, Russia and Finland. I found that pretty impressive. Any serious talent from the guys that won? Any input from guys that are "in the loop" is really welcome!

Here is the Czech nomination for that tournament:

BK ML. BOLESLAV - Růžička Jan
HC ČSOB POJ. PARDUBICE - Franc Martin, Špaček Michael
HC KOMETA BRNO - Hájek Libor, Dufek Jan, Dvořák Filip, Koblížek Radek, Dymáček Roman
HC KLADNO - Zajíc Josef
HC PSG ZLÍN - Procházka Petr
HC VÍTKOVICE STEEL - Krenželok Daniel, Stránský Šimon
HC PLZEŇ1929 - Kaňák Lukáš, Suchý Filip
HC SLAVIA PRAHA - Weinhold Martin
HC SPARTA PRAHA - Svoboda Martin
PIRÁTI CHOMUTOV - Kaše David, Wágner František
HC OCELÁŘI TŘINEC - Jašek Lukáš
HC DUKLA JIHLAVA - Anděl Lukáš

Subs:
HC KOMETA BRNO - Šnajnar Rostislav
HC PSG ZLÍN - Gago Michal, Schmied Dominik
HC SLAVIA PRAHA - Furch Aleš
HC SPARTA PRAHA - Procházka Ondřej
PIRÁTI CHOMUTOV - Hlaváček Marcel

What are the chances that Jan Stencel gets drafted? Could he become a Kimmo Timonen-like defenseman in the NHL one day? Does he have a good offensive game?

No chance. Hardly average skating ability combined with lack of size(5-9) limits him a lot.

If I remember correctly, people were saying Karabacek is talented kid and could go through the NHL draft next year. Don't know about Smejkal.

Karabacek is skilled winger with good hockey sense and scoring touch. Has good hands, agile skater and not afraid to play in high traffic and taking hits. Interesting prospect for 2014 NHL draft.
I have seen Smejkal only once and was not impressed.

My team Södertälje has recently acquired Lukas Jasek, forward born -97. Anybody have any insight to strengths, weaknesses and potential.

Thanks in advance.

Wow, another young czech player to Sweden? I'm not sure if I like that. There's for sure better development system but we should force them to stay here and try to make our junior leagues more competitive.
Anyway to your question, he is said to be pretty big talent, little undersized, at least right now. That's what I know.

smart, skilled, slick with the puck. Still early but I see NHL upside.

Yeah, losing top talent to other leagues is certainly never a good thing but I'm not sure that forcing them to stay is the right way to go, rather you'd wan't to make it more attractive to play Czech junior hockey by maybe putting more resources into developing coaches and upgrade facilities etc which would hopefully raise the competition level in the long run.

Anyway thanks for the input.

Thank you very much. Sounds similar to our other Czech prospect David Pastrnak, or am I completely lost in the woods?
