As for this injury, i'm going to take the approach that no news is good news. If he has a fracture it would have been known by now.

Bolland is considered day-to-day by Q. He will also be traveling with the Hawks to San Jose. Dodged a bullet.

Bollig's shot is much better than Kruger's.

True, I guess I was thinking overall offensive play and not just shot. Kruger probably does have the worst shot on the team. Both are black holes offensively.

But 16 was hot at the dot last night. Right Bubba?

Kruger was one of the few players who showed up last night. Weird game to start needling him on.

That's EXACTLY the problem, in my eyes, he shows up and is what 2 or 3 for 18 at the dot with zero shots on goal.

I really don't want that "showing up" on my roster. What would be an "off day" then?

I'll give credit to Kruger for generally playing well in the defensive zone. He just brings nothing to the table offensively and is poor at the dot, surprisingly better than Bolland so far this year though.

His first period was respectable. After that he was missing assignments all over the ice. I hope it was just fatigue.

Glad Bolland and the Hawks dodged a bullet. Bolland is a big part of this team, even when not playing his fullest.

It's like you think you
think the object of hockey is to win faceoffs.

He was sound defensively - until the entire team was too tired to do anything but fall in front of shots - and was one of three forwards who managed to hit a teammate with a pass. He's hardly been an issue.

Where are your posts about the headless chicken that is Shaw? He's not even playing physical this year.

While I don't think Shaw has been good this year, he has contributed more offensively than Kruger, he's a plus player (+2 to Kruger's -3) and he's been better at the dot.

You need to watch the game again ... that may have been Kruger's worst performance this year without the puck. And don't discount losing face offs as unimportant. It has already cost us some key goals and last night was no exception plus it is placing too much pressure on our PK unit. Q (or Stan) must address this ... some way, somehow.

The entire team sans Hammer was atrocious. And I'm not discounting them, I'm just not valuing them as a centers true worth.

The guy who has been given big minutes on the pp and played #3 C has more points than our #4 C? No kidding.

Well then don't say he was sound defensively. He wasn't. The biggest issue at the dot, is that Toews is the only one good at it. We're getting killed there.

Shaw, while still under 50%, hasn't been horrendous like Bolland and Kruger at the dot. He's currently at 48.2% on the season.

if anything, it would be Frolik. Bollig is just not smart enough to be in the right position.

Krüger showed up last night, but hey he is our problem.
Whatever this has to do with Bollands injury.

Kruger had a few awful turnovers last night. He was among the worst Hawks IMO. He also struggles with clearing the puck on the PK when he gets the puck on his stick.

I didn't bring Kruger up, I was just responding to someone who did. Based on their careers so far, I don't think there is anything to suggest that Kruger is a better finisher than Frolik.

I don't think Kruger himself is the team's problem, their overall scoring depth is the problem. I'd also say if that was Kruger showing up last night, I'd hate to see his game when he doesn't show up.

When I say that is the team's problem, I really think they need to improve offensively if they are to go anywhere. I'm very happy with the start though.

never said you were the guy to bring up Krüger here. I never said Krüger is a better finisher than Frolik. Just said that if anybody is as bad as Krüger scoring goals and finishing it would be Frolik, not Bollig.

Krüger is a big reason with Frolik that our PK is better than last year. Now add in that the goalie finally is the best penalty killer and you have a Top3 PK.

I just don't get the obsession Krüger gets here. He is in the Bottom 6, playing good on the PK and doesn't make many mistakes while getting better and better. Much improved and still some kind of weak along the boards... but he did beat the Sedins there more than once along the boards - look how they are seen even being that soft and "weak". (waits for response like "Krüger better than Sedin, WTF Oo")

hell, he is just our 4th line Center and plays GREAT at this spot so far.
