Boston/Dallas

Bourque did play well last night with his first goal as a Bruin. But I think the Bruins need a more reliable 3rd line player. I read early today that some Dallas stars could be available. I think bringing back a player like Ryder or even Jagr could give this team the player the Bruins need.

Boston
Caron and 4th round pick

Dallas
Ryder or Jagr

Timely.

Yeah, I'd take Ryder back for Caron and a 4th. He's got a good scoring touch, is familiar with Pevs and Kelly who made good strides offensively last year without giving up much in the way of defense.

Dunno why Dallas would do it, but I'd do it in a second.

Plus, he would resume his spot as whipping boy with little to no transition.

You would have to ask the Dallas fans on that one, because it's a no-brainer from the Bruins side (which likely means it's a no-go from Dallas).

I'd think Dallas would want a higher pick, to be honest.

To Dallas: Caron + 2014 2nd

To Boston: Ryder / Jagr

I'd take Ryder back in a second. You know he delivers in the playoffs (especially against the Habs), he's familiar with the system, and would make the 3rd line a much bigger scoring threat. His drawback is he tends to get complacent and lazy but he always brings it when it matters. Not sure why Dallas would do this unless they fall completely out of the playoff picture. I always wish we re-signed him in the first place. Funny stat is he has been a part of 4 Bruins-Habs series, 2 for the Bruins 2 for the Habs and his 4-0 in those series.

Really? Hiw quickly we forget when it comes to Ryder. He makes the beatings seguin and borque are getting from the fans right now look like child's play.

Lets also not forget that they could have just signed Ryder or jagr if management really wanted them

I'd do the Caron and 2014 2nd for Ryder but he'd have to sign a contract extension because that's a bit steep for a rental.

Looks like Morrow has lost a step, but may be decent on the third line...

Proposal : Boston /Dallas

I don't think Ryder would have an interest in coming back to Boston just to play on the third line. Not sure if he has a no trade clause or not though. The Bruins are going to have to address their issues on the power play before the deadline and I really hope that they can make a reasonable offer to Phoenix for Keith Yandle.

he'd also be pretty cheap to acquire IMO. I think he's the best bet although his lack of speed on the 3rd line may not translate all that well. But that depth would be wonderful

I think he'd rather play third line on the B's and have a shot at the cup than playing golf.

Paul Gaustad returned a 1st round pick when he had an expiring contract last year. I'd say Caron + 2nd for Ryder is around the same value when you consider the skill difference between Gaustad and Ryder.

we can upgrade better than Ryder. Can anyone hit the post more than him? At least Bourque gives it his all every shift. Can't say the same for Ryder. No thanks.

I think Ryan Clowe would be a perfect fit for the third line though.
