Whatever it is, I hope it doesnt involve a first round pick and a good prospect going the other way....

And, ah, the difference is? Not much. It means they still are looking for a bottom 6 C. We can fulfill that need...

Yeah, I suggested Clowe+ Demers + 2nd/Murray/bottom-6 forward for hagelin + kreider.

Too much. Ovechkin is a bum. Murray and Clowe + 7th for Ovechkin and a 1st.

you do realize the reason wilson is looking for forwards is because he doesn't think we have good enough depth at the forward spot? he is not going to move a forward out unless 2 is coming back.

if anything it will be a defensemen for a forward swap.

But DW will confirm he'll be trying to improve the team until the NHL trade deadline.

He'll also confirm that water is generally wet and night is usually dark.

Jason Chimera or Troy Brouwer would be ideal. Caps are on life support.

That would be EPIC. Would give up Hertl. But never happen.

I think you need to read more closely. I never said swap a bottom 6 fwd. I said add a bottom 6 fwd (Desjardins?) if it helps.

Of course, the crux of our portion would be our defensive depth. Just seems the Rangers have plenty of depth there as well.

I could see something like this:

To New York:
D Petrecki
D Murray

To San Jose:
F Boyle

They get a NY guy. Burke & DW get a Massachusetts guy. Everybody's happy!

Brian Boyle is a 4th liner. Slow as balls. Not necessary.

That would be why the rangers don't make sense for trade partners, they need forwards we need forwards. We have spare parts at defense. We do not and can not give up a forward unless 2 of them are coming back.

Look to teams who are looking for defensive depth, either a 6th or 7th defensemen (murray) or a potential top 4 defensemen (demers/braun)

Agree - the Rangers wouldn't make good trade partners.

Which teams fit that bill?

Maybe our old trade pals, Minnesota, could swap a forward for one of our defenseman.

Murray or Braun for someone who can be a tweener for us. Preferably Murray but with how good our PK has been off-late and the part Murray has played in the PK I am thinking they do not want to get rid of Murray.

i believe we need scoring depth and need another winger, maybe 2 at this point so i hope the rumors are true. Need legit 40-50 pointers, not has been or project players. I'm not sure gomez is a legit player at this time.

I think it's overblown (Murray's role on the PK). Maybe TMac's propping up his value.
