I think (merit= superior quality or worth) Coyle has that merit, it's his innate merit of size + skill that the Wild need. He just may be superior to Zucker at this time, at least to management. That said, I really really want Zucker up here.

8 games in 0 Goals and 2 assists..oh yeah and a measly 10 shots on goal from a player that was supposed to be a 25 goal a year guy. He is not as good as he was advertised and I wouldn't cry a bit if he was gone.

Your trying to tell me you'd scratch Heatley over Setoguchi?? Your flat out nuts.

Heatley's game is fine, he's not a 5 on 5 force anymore. But he is still a 30-35 goal scorer who makes his hay on the PP. He will score goals, that is for certain. What about Seto??
....whhaaaatt? The reason the 2nd line has been terrible is mostly because of Granlund. Seto has played very, very hard. You don't scratch a guy who goes all out on each shift and comes up short on points do you? He has had chances and like Cullen, can't finish.

Seto hasn't been bad. His physical play has impressed me and you can tell he wants to score. Just have to find a better combo to get that second line clicking. I'd recommend bumping Seto up to the first line with Parise and Koivu and seeing if he can finally pot one (or more).

Seto can run around and throw hits(that never do anything because he's soft) and not do anything offensively and yet people will still back him.

He is not that good of a player. Not a top 6 player. I just don't see the support for him and why it is merited. You people like him on potential and not what he actually brings to the table.

He's supposed to be a goal scorer. HE HAS ZERO GOALS.

Not wanting him run out of town =/= not being disappointed in his production.

There are a lot of guys on this team that need to jump-started. It's about trying to find the right combinations right now.

I agree with that. Doesn't help anyone on that second line when they have 1/3 the shots of the first. I think that's due to the fact they are too small and basically get 1 shot on net then out muscled for the rebound/possession. Most of them are Cullen or Granlund snapping it on net as they enter the zone.

Haven't seen anybody else post it, so I'll just throw it out there. He'll be wearing #63.

I still don't agree with you. If you put Seto on line 1 he would be productive. Put him with the other guy on the team who hasn't put up numbers on the stat sheet (granlund), can't penetrate the zone, can't keep the puck, and isn't making any plays, and he will continue to not put up anything. P.S. Granlund is also on the 4th line today.

New lines:

Parise - Koivu - Heatley
PMB - Cullen - Coyle
Clutter - Brodz - Mitchell
Powe - Konopka - Setoguchi or Granlund

One of Seto or MiG is going to be a healthy scratch tomorrow night.

He's been wearing 3 for a long time. Not sure if he can't have that one or what.

But over the summer when I met him, he signed my jersey as #63 so maybe he's planning on sticking with that in the NHL

from wild.com

Parise – Koivu – Heatley

Bouchard – Cullen – Coyle

Mitchell – Brodziak – Clutterbuck

Centering fourth line was Zenon Konopka with the wingers continually changing like a stoplight between Setoguchi, Powe, Granlund and Kassian.

The Wild then moved onto power play practice, with the first unit remaining: Heatley – Koivu – Parise – Bouchard – Suter. The second was altered with Cullen moving to the point: Cullen – Gilbert – Setoguchi – Coyle – Granlund.

Seto has laid people out a few times this season. He's hitting better than anyone but clutterbuck so far. Where the **** is Brodziak?
Seto has been effective only when paired with good players. Marleau and Thorton, for example. Granlund and Cullen aren't in the same ballpark. he's a complimentary player, and someone who should be the third best player on a line. he's been better than Cullen and Granlund ES.

Blah. 3 is so much cooler then 63. Wild 1 round picks that wore #'s in the 60's haven't panned out. Yet......

Edit: I know Coyle was drafted by SJ. Just in case anyone wanted to be a smarty pants.

Russo also mentioned it could be a possibility that zenon could be the scratch with granlund and seto moving to the 4th line

I would like to see Parise-Granlund-Coyle but there is no chance Yeo will do it, it would also create ice time problems for Parise.
