Karlsson played 32:08 with no OT

Must be unseen this year no?

And btw what does Sens fans think about Karlsson playing PK? How many PK did he play last year cant recall he did it this regular like now no? Will Lundin take his PK spot? when is he back anyway?

Why don't you ask this question on the Sens board?

Phanuef played 32:38 against the Rangers earlier this year.

McDonagh also has a 30+ minute game this year

I wish he wasn't. Not because he's a bad PKer; he's pretty good, and the fact that Ottawa only has 3-4 NHL defencemen on a given night necessitates it. But at even strength he's the best in the league, and I'd rather he spend his minutes dominating rather than defending.

Is TOI going to become a recurring theme on these boards now?

Id rather Karlsson not play the PK(even though hes good at it) but not much choice at this point.

Drew played 33:25 against Edmonton. Ridiculous numbers for all these players.

Sucks that he had to, but we only had 2 other NHL d-men in the line-up.

32 mins is probably a career high for him but other players have already beaten that. It's like there's a new thread popping up everyday about high TOI numbers. Someone should make a TOI tracker thread...

There's a thread just below. Most time logged in regulation since Dan Boyle 5 years ago.

Probably why they lost. Karlsson one of the worst defensemen in his own end in the league, you don't want him out there for the PK or d zone faceoffs.

All Karlsson does these days is poke-check the hell out of oncoming forwards. He's been tremendous defensively, although I don't like the way he played Cole on the PK today. He always wants to limit forwards that don't have the puck, and while I generally agree with that strategy, it can burn you sometimes.

EDIT: This should not be a thread. As mentioned already, many defensemen have already crossed that mark.

He's not one of the worst but Sens fans trying to pass him off as good PK material is laughable at best. He's dominant 5 on 5 and really good on the PP but in his own end and on the PK, he's really unimpressive.

Mehh, if anything, he's been better in defensive situations 5 on 5 than PP this year. Not a lot of magical passes so far.

Anderson and good defensive coverage were the main reasons.

Ottawa scored a whopping one goal. Goalie was the main reason.

His positioning is spotty as hell defensively but no one wants to admit it
