Won't ever happen. I like Datsyuk but he is 34 years old. If the Yotes are going to trade Yandle ( which I doubt will happen any time soon) they would want some younger talent in return. Nobody on the Wings stands out too me. Brunner looks good but who knows how good he will be, not worth the risk.

Valuewise it's actually not bad, I think, but neither team does it.

Detroit can barely generate anything with Datsyuk.... They'd be in offensive obscurity without him

A few seasons ago, this would've been a ridiculous thread. Datsyuk is getting old now though. Fair value. Both teams still say no.

I think it'd be fair value if Yandle could play in his own zone, which is exactly what Detroit would be shopping for anyway.

Even if Detroit started missing the playoffs this year.

It is still hard for me to imagine them EVER trading Datsyuk or Zetterberg.

I would prefer they retire Red Wings. (If the team starts sucking WITH them, we will get low draft picks either way ((we never get low draft picks)) ).

LOOOOL at Yotes fans thinking THEY'RE the ones getting screwed.

Datsyuk is too old? He has 6 points in 5 games on one of the most offensively stagnant teams in the league right now.

Also, the Wings don't need Yandle. The Wings don't want Yandle. They want Dmen who can actually play defense.

34 in Detroit means you have 3-4 good years left followed by 3-4 more productive years.

How about you trade us OEF, Yandle, Boedker, and Vermette for Zetterberg

This is an example of why I don't like this forum.

There is zero chance Detroit moves Datsyuk. He's a franchise player. He's a player you acquire a player like Yandle to play with not against. Yes, there are concerns (age, KHL) with Datsyuk but it's simply not something that should even be discussed anywhere but a fantasy forum.

That being said. Here's my beef with HF. We need a separate forum for legitimate trade rumors. Anything that is legitimate is lost in never ending fantasy discussion.

What about a board just for Jake Gardiner proposals from Toronto Fans?

Quantity is not always better than quality. None of those players will have the same impact as Zetterberg. And Z is going nowhere.

I understand why Yotes' fans wouldn't do this trade, since Datsyuk has maybe 4 years left if he even decides to stay in NA. While Yandle is a very good defenseman, he is no where near Datsyuk's value.

Anyways, Datsyuk isn't going anywhere, so no use debating this. He rather go back to Russia than join another team.

This is probably one of the better proposals I've seen in this thread (the bar is low, mind you).

But Kronwall is more of an all-round defenseman than Yandle. Vrbata is underrated and I like him as a player. Always shows up against the Wings somehow. Great shot. Right-handed too.

I would actually move Franzen if it meant we would upgrade somewhere, but this isn't an upgrade. It's kind of a lateral move.

If in that trade proposal he meant OEL, then any detroit fan would take that and run. OEL straight up for Zetterberg is very close in value.

The Wings without Z this year = Dead last in the division if not the conference. I'd love to say that's an exaggeration.

No doubt OEL is highly rated and his upside is probably phenomenal (we'll wait an see, let him complete a few seasons). The value shoots up because he's only 21 and Z is 32, but there is no way Z for OEL straight up is fair value.

No. Yandle and Kronwall are a wash, value wise. Different style defensemen, so no point in arguing either way. I wouldn't move Vrbata and a 1st for Franzen and a 2nd. I wouldn't trade Vrbata for Franzen straight up.
