What an awful game plan. Credit to Nog for stuffing the couple of takedown attempts, but yeesh Rashad. You are an elite level wrestler. When the stand up isn't going your way, utilize it.

Dana said it best he has lost the "hunger". So now us MMA fans have another myth. "Healthy" Shogun, "Motivated" B.J. Penn and now.."Hungry" Rashad.

lol. Except a "Hungry" Rashad was not all that spectacular. In all honesty, the last time he looked spectacular was against Forrest. And to be honest (maybe I'm remembering incorrectly, it has been a long time since I saw that fight) Forrest won the first 2 rounds before getting hurt and stopped by Rashad in the 3rd.

He's a very good fighter but I think we all got fooled a bit by those KO wins over Chuck and Forrest.

Oh, I guess he looked pretty great dismantling Tito.

Hes just so hesitant to use his skillset. Great power, great wrestling, solid grappling, athleticism and yet hes content to play it safe.

Usually, we hear this about GSP and not Rashad. He needs to realize that you have to be champion before you can play it safe. And even then, there's a HUGE difference between GSP's playing it safe and Rashad pawing at you.

Don't forget "horse meat eating" Overeem who we will no longer get to see.

Unlike me or you they are professional broadcasters and should carry themselves accordingly.

I'm fine with the main event being scored 48-47 or 49-46, the 5th could've went either way. As usual, Frankie showed a ton of heart by surviving the first few rounds and coming on later.

I'd love to see Aldo/Pettis, wouldn't be surprised to see Pettis win that one.

Sucks that Overeem got KO'd but he fought stupid so he deserved it. Brutal job by Herb Dean not stopping it sooner. Big Foot landed about 4-5 bombs after Overreem was clearly done. I want to see Big Foot fight Werdum now.

I'm really glad that Nog won even if the fight sucked. Means we won't have to watch Silva fight Rashad now.

Maia and Woodley both looked great. I'd like to see Maia fight Kampmann next while Woddley could fight one of Peirce or Alves.

I would. I'd be absolutely shocked. That's a gigantic mismatch. Pettis doesn't have the other worldly durability that Edgar has to survive Aldo's onslaught.

The best I could see it going for him is a replay of the Hominick fight, without the last round.

Exactly. GSP may not take many risks but he still punishes his opponents and breaks their will.

Eh, some people just don't like Pettis. Seems like more of a personal thing.

Pettis is probably my favorite fighter, but I take Aldo over him. I would favor Aldo over anyone 155 and under, though at this stage.

Pettis/Aldo isn't a mismatch but Aldo would be a favorite. It'd be interesting to see who could find range first.

I don't see how Pettis outstrikes Aldo, nor do I see him being able to take him down. How is that not a mismatch?

For starters he's bigger and has a reach advantage to go with good power and a varied attack. That's how he could outstrike Aldo. It could also come down to which of them is more weight drained heading into the fight. Both of them haven't been outstruck by anyone so I'd love to see that fight.

Pettis has been outstruck by Shane Roller...

Roller tagged him good but definitely did not outstrike him, I seem to remember that fight being pretty even. Roller's an All-American wrestler to boot and was taken down on each attempt Pettis had. He can take Aldo down, who knows if he actually will, but calling that potential fight a mismatch is hyperbole.

The best you can say is that Pettis edged him in striking, and I even think that's a stretch.

Part of why people don't take Aldo down is because he does so well in positioning to prevent that. The only guys who have been able to have been mostly wrestlers, and Hominick in the 5th round when Aldo was gassed.

At least I'm pretty sure he's trying to shoot again.

With all the Goldberg talk in this thread, I thought this would be enjoyed.

My personal favorite is the premature call of Dunham/Sherk.

I also really like his 'Little Eagle flies again!' for one of Pulver's wins. Totally wrong nickname.

Still hard to top Rogan vs the bag of ice.
