Whoops, I forgot to include that I saw it on a chat room by a Panthers fan.
There is no way I am trading that much for a signed Weiss muchless an unsigned Weiss.
I think something like the Islanders 2nd and Holland would do it for me.

You are crazy if you think Holland is our best prospect.
We have a few players above him. Even at Center depth.
Rakell
Lindholm
Palmieri
Etem
Holland
You can move around a few players but either way I don't think that Holland is our best prospect. But, I would move him in order to get Weiss who is 10 times better Holland is at this point. He is a 20 goal scorer EVERY year no matter the players he plays with.
How long are we going to sit and wait for the Holland experiment to work out?
I mean he drafted in 2009. We have had 3 drafts since then.
I would personally like to trade him before his trade value drops off and we end up with another Logan Macmilan on our hands?

Way too impatient. I would deal Holland, but only if it returned a signed 2nd line center.
Holland isn't Logan Mcmillan though. He's shown he can score at near a PPG pace in the AHL two straight years. He'll be a 3rd line center at worst in my opinion

Not at all. I think prospects are so overrated in today's sports.
Teams turn down trades cause they don't want to give up 1-2 of their prospects even for a proven player in this league.
I would glady trade Holland and a 2nd even for an unsigned Weiss.
Why?
Cause if Getz or Perry walk then we give him the money and we don't become a bottom feeder team when we lose one of Getz or Perry, Teemu, Saku, and even Lydman.
Then at least we have a backup plan and it has been proven that players often resign with the team that traded for them resign with them when they give up to prospects for them.
Also, before you do anything, find out if he wants to come here. It really isn't that hard. A friend talks to a friend and you find out.
Since when do we write off 21 year olds that are producing at nearly a PPG pace in the AHL? Logan MacMillan never produced at any professional level, comparing him and Holland is ridiculous.
By the way Bobby Ryan made the NHL full time in the 4th season after he was drafted, this is only the 4th season for Holland since he was drafted. Not everybody will jump into the NHL as early as Fowler did.

And then once you've given the money to a 2C you no longer have the money to give to a 1C. Which is why prospects are so valued - you can't have a successful team for more than one year in a cap league unless you have good players on ELC's.

Even with that being said, he isn't our best prospect and Weiss has a 95% chance of being a better NHL player then Holland.

In all likelihood, Holland probably won't reach the level Weiss has played at. But 1/3 of a season of Weiss plus a slim chance at resigning him is not worth multiple seasons of a 21 year old who projects to be a decent second liner.
Ah, Logan MacMillan ... I remember (unfortunately) when his career fell off the track in the Fall of 2007... Concussions, numerous off-ice problems ... It was terrible watching....
That being said it's absolutely unfair to mention his name in the same sentence as Holland lol. I can at least see why Holland was picked in round 1 unlike Logan.
2007 was a terrible draft, MacMillan was projected to go in the first round at the time of the draft. But yeah so much for a "safe, great character" pick. Didn't he miss a whole bunch of games the season after he was drafted because he was exhausted from the hockey lifestyle?

I remember throwing **** at my tv when we passed on MaxPac. We passed on an american power forward, for a canadian who at best was going to be a 3rd or 4th line player.

Yep. Fatigue.
And later:
"MacMillan was arrested on a DUI and driving without a driver's license charges while out of the line-up with back spasms in early January. The rookie forward was sent home by the Ducks for personal reasons only to return on loan to the injury ridden Abbottsford Heat for the last seven games of the AHL season."
I'm guessing that "fatigue" was a euphemism for constantly drunk.
