Mrazek is 6-0 with decent numbers: 2.45 gaa .916 sv%

Griffins doing quite well since he came up.

Swagger?

Mrazek is pure swag. Easily my favourite non-Leafs prospect. I love the kid and hope he becomes a top NHL goalie.

The Wings don't have any other goalie prospects that look even remotely ready to pan out. Mrazek is a great asset to have at this point. Really glad to see him doing well, he's been pretty solid for the past few years everywhere he's played.

funny, i mentioned today (as the 67's lost another one) how badly the 67's miss mrazek. It's strange because mrazek isnt/wasnt that good. He's just a solid, wont-lose-you-the-game goalie.

If mrazek can continue to be that in the AHL (it appears so), and the NHL, he'll have a long career.

Really? From the few Ottawa games I saw him he looked pretty damn good and some ottawa posters were saying he should be in MVP contention. Hes looked like a goalie that can steal games in the AHL and world juniors too

Sounds like an Osgood type. Not a great goalie, just one who somehow manages to get it done.

Wow, every other 67's fan says that Mrazek was the heart and soul of that team and won them games himself regularly

I just hope he continues being "average" and I hope his "average" translate to the NHL level. Because if stays "average", Red Wings will get a lot of wins under their belt.

Someone want to post Griffins W/L record before Mrazek and their W/L record after Mrazek? Griffins couldn't buy a win before this rookie came to the AHL, now they are undefeated.

Average goalies are average...

Got his first loss today, the Griffins were sleep walking and played one of their worst periods of the year in the 2nd. Smith had a rough outing, don't let the two assists fool you he was also at fault for two goals.

Recalled to Detroit after his first career pro shutout. Expect him to start soon because Jimmy Howard has started every game thus far.

My guess is he starts Tuesday.

Jimmy looked like he got dinged against St Louis, he has played through it, but could use a chunk of days off.

Great to hear! Going to be cheering for this kid. He'll be a lot of fun to watch in the NHL.

He will probably play Saturday if he plays at all. It'll give him extra time to get used to the NHL shot speed, maybe a little speed (probably not because it's practice), and Saturday and not Sunday because the team won't be tired. Maybe Thursday because Howard has given up quite a few goals vs the blues even though not many were his fault.

So his first career start would be against the reigning Stanley Cup champions on national television? I'm in. The kids a gamer.

I hope he gets a shutout, goes bezerk, and does a huge celebration just to see the huge thread and mass hysteria it would cause on the main board.

Ha! McCollum has to feel like crap.

Good call in my opinion. Mrazek feeds off confidence. If he does well his confidence is at an all time high. If he sucks he's pissed at himself because he's not as good as he thinks he is and will do all he can to get to that level.

Haha maybe he can slide through the nuteralzone on his knees when he makes a last second save to keep the game,,, tied.

He has the potential to become a huge fan favorite in Detroit. I know Howard is a work horse but man needs a break. I wish they would put Gustavsson on IR already he is eating up a DTD spot in my pool.
