I guess now that Holmstrom is retired they are calling this on everyone. Not quite as bad as the Chicago vs. Columbus one, but pretty awful. It was a good goal and a head scratching decision.

The refs NEED to be held accountable. Even if that means facing the media after the game. They can't get away with destroying a teams chances, and get away scott-free. It changes nothing in how terrible they have been thus far into the season. It's a disgrace.

Calling it: Sens miss the playoffs by a point. Maclean hunts down the refs and disposes of them with his mustache.

How about the double minor to White in the last game for taking his stick back+complaining to the refs about a bs call? No? No complaints Sens fans?

Yeah, it was an awful call. Really the only difference between that and Pleks goalie interference is that a goal happened to be waived off on it.

Basically, in this game sens got a goal on a bad call, had a goal waived off on a bad call. Sens win a game against the habs based on a bad call and lose based on a bad call. Seems like a wash to me.
So Sens won 5-1 but you think the habs lost the game because of one call? Ok.

I guess it's the exact same as having a third period goal waved off in a close 2-1 game.

Exact same thing.

If they miss the playoffs by a point they can't blame the refs.

That looked like one of those phantom goalie interference calls you get in NHl 13 from time to time!

While it's not the exact same thing, I guess one could say that the Habs got jobbed by the refs in the second period of this game. They've been equally bad for each team, and this interference call may be the worst of all. The Plekanec call seconds into the game that led to the Senators goal was pathetic. Way to send a message for the rest of the game...

All in all, I'm pretty confident it evens out in the end. If the Senators miss the playoffs, this loss should not be blamed.

Habs fan here.

Awful call, it obviously should have been a goal.

The refs have been incredibly brutal in both Ottawa-Montreal games so far this year.

Nah not really, the call on the Sens was way worse.
I disagree. The latter was much worse.

Did you hear the guy that was beside Steve Kouleas on TSN's That's Hockey 2Nite? He actually said that was a good call. What??

I don't care for either team much but I have to say that was a horrible no goal call, and to make matters even worse, a penalty too??? A penalty??? A ref can wave off a goal without giving a penalty but to wave off the goal AND give the penalty, for that? Wow.

When almost everyone ( I haven't read through the thread in it's entirety) on HF acknowledges it was a terrible call including the majority of the fan base that benefited from the call, you know the refs screwed the pooch.

Bright and early, thanks!

Fact is this team has always had trouble dealing with adversity, and this IS adversity.
The Senators should have simply charged back and got that win on the road but didn't.
This comes from the media and the top, frankly. Excuses are always made but accountability just isn't there.

We have some very winnable games coming, time for them to step up or they'll be out of the playoff race and will have no one but themselves to blame.

From what I have seen this year there are loads of bad calls, just some ***** and cry about it, while most just move on and except what cannot be changed.

Seriously, what is going on with the ridiculous officiating this year? As a neutral fan of that game, they def got screwed, sucks even more since that cost them the game, or at least a point in the standings.

In a shortened season especially there is little margin for error. I sense poor reffing being front and centre all season. This needs to be addressed.

They are held accountable. If you think nothing will result of this because the refs weren't tarred and feathered on Sparks Street in a live pay-per-view event, then you're going out of your way to be dense.

Ottawa also scored their only goal of the game during a power play that they received due to a phantom goalie interference call.

Far as I'm concerned, the calls evened themselves out, and the deserving team won.
