Oilers probably lose

they can't score and Luongo seems to be on a roll

3-2 Nucks in regulation

If Horc plays Oil have a decent chance, if not bet the farm on Van. Without Horc we have no one that can win a faceoff. Van would cycle us to death in our zone.

To recap, #Oilers Jones and Eager skating in non-contact silks, Paajarvi back up from OKC, Horcoff skating after missing last two games

Ryan Whitney is paired with Theo Peckahm at practice, indicating a good chance that he'll sit tonight with Fistric-Potter as a pairing...

Jason Gregor ‏@JasonGregor
If practice combos are accurate looks like Ryan Whitney might be odd man out on blueline...

This will be my second game of the year, first being the San Jose game, so i feel the Oilers owe me one

Oilers 4
Nucks 2

(Smyth, Yak x2, Nuge)

Cannot lose 2 games in a row.

Hoping Nuge finally breaks his goal scoring slump tonight.

Oilers just need to listen to Paul Stanley's classic, Live to Win, and they'll increase their chances of winning exponentially.

I think this is another game where the lack of secondary scoring will hurt the Oilers.
can't see them breaking out of the scoring slump against the canucks.

wonder which team shows up tonight. I think it's the one that gets badly outplayed, but I've been wrong many, many times before.

I think the oiler sneak out with the W tonight. Lou has been playing great , so has Dubie. We are having trouble scoring, so are the canucks. Belanger is out, so is kesler and booth.. Oilers will step up tonight.

I know they got a point vs San Jose, but they already have lost two in a row.

Good to see Whitney sitting. Hopefully it lights a fire for the next game.

I wonder if Oil will use the old MacT First game back home excuse..
My Goodness Gracious that guy was as monotonly negative as a coach could possibly get..at least Pat Quinn had a lil emotion..
Time to find out if Kruegers Masters degree in positivety is hore**** or the real deal tonight.

Wish oilers had more crust in their lineup..Smyth, Horcoff, and Whitney all need to be replaced with hard grinder type players that can skate.

Either Whitney is out or Peckham is in.

EDIT: looks like subnet beat me to the punch.

Factoid of the day:
We have the exact same position in the standings that we did last year after 8 games and the exact same number of GF. (ignoring nhl.com's incorrect placement of Det over us)

We have a much worse goal differential however at -1 versus +8 last year. If you take out that one period against SJS it is very close to samesies.
