I saw them all at Schnuck's picking out a get-well card and a fruit basket to send to Carlo.
That's mighty thoughtful of them.
In honor of Carlo, from the latest Down Goes Brown dealing with goal celebrations.
Do: Occasionally react to an especially big goal by skating over to the boards and slamming your body into the end glass.
Do not: Attempt this move unless you're sure that you're leaping into actual glass and not just something that's convincingly glass-like, such as Carlo Colaiacovo.
I don't like this thread at all, kinda asking for a big injury to an important player. I have been a Blues fan for a long time, feel like every time we have a team doing good the injury bug bites hard like last yr.
JR reported he's hopeful to be at practice on Friday. That would mean he would miss two games, and no back to back games during that span. Elliott can handle that, especially since our next four games are at home, and we typically play much better at home. I don't think Allen will see 1 second of ice time while he's up here.

I'm not really worried if we do play Allen I think some NHL time could do him some good. Allen has the potential to come in and play well he's been on a pretty crappy Peoria team I think with our defense he could play quite well actually.

I wouldn't be all that worried either, but I would still prefer Elliott.

I certainly wouldn't want to rely on Allen for more than brief emergency time.

He's almost 23 and has 1 minute of NHL time. He's definitely going to need to get some time in this year, and playing backup would do him a lot of good. As long as Elliot and Halak both get injured, I'm not worried about a goaltender injury.

Once Allen can keep his GAA significantly below a 3.00 then he can get some NHL ice time, but Allen has been far from spectacular this season and last.

AHL stats don't always convert over to NHL performance. I think Allen would really surprise people if they brought him up (Not guaranteeing.)
Also remember, Peoria isn't exactly one of the better AHL teams. Allen (other than being somewhat weak this year, which was more in the beginning ) has done what would be expected of a 20-22 year old goalie in the AHL the last few years.

Last season he had some very good stretches. I personally think Peoria is a prospect wasteland and one of the worst things is to keep young talent down there. I don't know if it's the coaching or what but something needs to be done.
Allen has had a horrible defense in front of him this season I really think keeping him there may hurt his development at this point more then it will help it.
Hi Blues fans. Islanders fan coming in peace but just curious about Halak. Did they give a timeline on his return? Or the severity of the groin strain?

Reports are that he will try to be back at practice on Friday, which would only make him miss two games.

I'm skeptical.
We all heard the bull the Blues were telling us the same thing on Halak having a "lower body injury" and "day to day " in the playoffs last spring when it was the dreaded high ankle sprain.
Halak is gaining a reputation no one wants, colo and Andy Mac can attest : Injury Prone.
I for one would like to see Allen get some time in. Hopefully, the Blues can get a good lead and pull Elliott for Allen in the 3rd period. If you are going to hold Allen to his stats at Peoria, then I suggest you send Schwartz down as he still has the worst +/- among forwards at Peoria. From what we have seen though, he has played his defensive position pretty well so far and hasn't looked out of place.

I can tell you that he probably doesn't have a high ankle sprain.
