Kunitz credited with 4th goal against Capitals

GOAL CHANGE: Chris Kunitz has been credited with the opening goal against #Caps yesterday (assists to Martin/Crosby) http://pens.pe/VLXJ9b
First Penguin to do so since Jagr back in 2000.

Fantastic game for him.

Not as impressive as Crosby's 3 assists.

Good for Koon, but sucks for Martin who has actually turned things around this year

I doubt Martin cares all that much whether he gets a goal or an assist.

So he was originally credited with the goal, then it was taken away, and now they're giving it back?

Guy plays like absolute crap first part of the season when healthy but then when he gets sick and plays through it he gets 5 goals and 2 assists in 2 games. Crazy

Good to see. He only had 10,000 goals called back last season.

Was going to say this. I know Crosby has 6 career hat tricks. Surprised at no four goal games.

Me too, to be completely honest. Throw in Lemieux on his comeback as well. There were games where he appeared he could do whatever the **** he pleased...but then again that usually involved banking pucks off Steve McKenna's ass and giving McKenna goals.

Yeah...it was weird. The scorer in Washington changed quite a few calls yesterday (including one to a phantom assist)...I have no clue what was up with that.

Big turnaround for Kunitz. During the first few games he was a turnover machine and was doing nothing to help Crosby's line generate scoring chances. Funny thing is the middle of last week he caught the flu, and has been playing better ever since.

Maybe Ovechkin should take note and try to hang around someone with the flu.

Kunitz is carrying that team, I mean let's be reality, it's Kunitz and company, Crosby's lucky to be on the same line as him. Kunitz just makes **** happen.

4 goal game is undeniably an amazing effort on the part of Chris Kunitz, but to all those Sidney Crosby non-believers out there, check out his first assists on 3 of Kunitz 4 goals. Crosby absolutely gifted him a hattrick. Great chemistry out there between Crosby, Kunitz and Dupuis!

Holtby hooked him up pretty good as well.

Every fan in the free world watching that game saw that he deflected the puck, but it took the NHL all that time to credit him with the goal?

Are they watching the games on an old Zenith 15" black and white, or what?

That's crazy.

Even Alex freakin' Kovalev had a four goal game.

I'd think you'd make your point more effectively if you didn't name one of the most talented players to ever play the game.

On a different note - Kunitz has been 'lucky' with his linemates...before he was playing with Sid he was playing with Getzlaf and Ryan. The guy adds a great dimension to those skill lines...hopefully this is him shedding the rust and not just a total fluke game, since he'd been atrocious all season until yesterday.
