Semantics really. Weise was playing way less ice than his linemates due to PP time. I doubt Schroeder and Raymond's TOI really changes though they'll have a better winger. Big difference I see is Lapierre is being allowed to pivot his own line again, which I think was the issue that originally forced Burrows to centre or else we'd likely have seen these lines since opening night. The big jump in ice-time will likely be Lapierre, who is now skating with two players who average over 15 mins per game, whereas he has been more in the fourth line ice-time range.

love the Raymond-Schroeder-Burrows line. I thought they would do exactly this eventually, even when Kesler was back. Makes too much sense.

I don't think so. He's just ....bad. Has never been the same player he used to be after his injury troubles.

@TSNRyanRishaug: Asked Luongo if opponents have been chirping him on ice about the situation “Not at all, a few have asked if I’d come play for their team”
This is awesome.

Wasn't he voted the hardest goaltender to score on in a players' poll a few years back? There's likely a lot of players that wish he would come to their team.

His ankle's and mobility seem to be a major problem, I agree. I just wonder if mentally, his confidence was further shaken.

While Schroeder hasn't looked bad, he has only had 1 assist through his first 6 games. He's going to need to rack up the stats a bit more if hes going to stick, otherwise I fully expect him to be back in Chicago before long. He has a chance with Burrows now who has shown he has the capabilities to be both a prolific shooter and passer, hopefully Schroeder can benefit.

Nope, he only just started practicing with the team.
I wouldn't expect him to play a game until next week. (maybe longer)

He has proved himself defensively, now it's time to further his talents at the other end.

Like the looks of the nucks lines tonight. I would like to see the Oil move their lines around a little and get Yak on RW. Gotta give the nod to the nucks but hoping for a close exciting game.

This is wrong. Both AV and Gillis are more than ecstatic about his play, on both sides of the ice. With and without the puck. Hes not going anywhere.

The guy has played 6 NHL games, and done so under UN SHELTERED minutes to boot.
Why would you even suggest he aint 'done enuf' consider all he has done.

I guess you were at a bathroom break when he scored the only shoot out goal to win the last hockey game the Canucks were playing. That doesnt count for you either apparently. Dont see it in your post in any way.

Good thing you arent AV or Gillis.

Schroeder has done better in his first 6 games than any Canuck rookie since the twins and even then perhaps since even Bures first 6 games.

Well... that was certainly... passionate. He's doing fine but you're going way over the top here.

Wow.... while I appreciate your passion and somewhat with your viewpoint, temperance and decafe are suggested... but I do appreciate the game Shedder has been playing.

It was quite the compelling argument, I legitimately got excited while reading it. Schroeder hasn't been a huge standout, but doesn't look out of place at all (offensively and defensively) and I think his defensive ability will keep him on AV's good side and ensure him a spot on this team if he keeps up his play.

Schroeder is more Ronning than Bure. He's head and shoulders better than I thought he'd be, though.

Actually, fortunately for us, he's making it much easier for Gillis to move him. He's played well, had a great attitude; his value has only gone up since the start of the season which should make his return even better.

He will be missed though. He helped usher in an era of excellence for this franchise.

Kesler said himself he still has a ways to go before being able to play. I think with our schedule, he'll be out for minimum another two weeks.
