I wouldn't mind it if Gainey brought Lindros in. Why not.

..so what if he didn't want to play for the nord's. Hell, the nords were the absolute enemy of the habs, so why would habs fans give a crap about this. It wasn't a knock against the province (at no time was there proof that he wouldn't play for the habs...plus hell, he was 18 years old. 18 year old kids are all idiots). It was a knock against our enemy. An enemy that at the time was worse than the leafs ever were.

Hey look, it's Duffman; the guy in a costume that creates awareness of Duff!

if its cheap and short term
then why not?
it adds depth and can help us out in the near future then it doesnt hurt us
if it was a contract worth a lot and longer term then its not worth it
but given the 1 mil/yr for 2 years it cant terribly hurt

hey, I'd go for it. Lindros is a definite improvement over Ribeiro. he does bring the size needed at center. he'd come cheap too. and I think he still has some good hits left in him.
but, does his mommy and daddy want him to play in montreal? Gainey would have to work a deal with dear old Bonnie.

But geez the levelof animosity for the guy has stretched all levels of reason. I'd only agree to a 1 year deal though.
Damn you, trying to destroy the righteous indignation of the masses. Why, if he ever signed here, I'd,I'd, well, you'd better believe I'd,

be all for it if he did well and against it if he didn't. I follow the mantra of the old Italian man talking to Yossarian in Catch 22.

I'd like the Lindros signing, especially at the rumoured price.

He'd look great with Shanny

Offer Pulled

Apparently the offer got pulled...

it ended up being one year, not two. One year, $1 million and Carl Lindros requested two years.

It appears now that Carl is in discussions with Neil Smith and the Islanders. The feeling is Eric will have a better chance of getting his act together away from the glaring spotlight of playing in Canada.

I think this is dead.

That's sad i would have like the HABS to ink him , and than sit him 20 games before sending him to the Bulldogs for the rest of the season .

It would be EXACTLY what this team needs in many ways ...

But he would have to change his name to fool Bergie and Villeneuve

to Shmeric Shlindros ... Dupuis

Man.....if Lindros comes to Montreal, I'd have to change my pic. Anyway, I'll take him over Ribeiro anyday. I am surprised though......despite all the talk coming from Roenick about rededicating himself to the game, there has been no talk about where he might be rumored to go. I somehow saw Roenick as a good fit in Montreal on the second line.
