I just find it kinda funny that Suter was always deemed the better of the two defensively and Weber the better offensively and yet Suter is struggling defensively and Weber is struggling offensively.

Suter is being paid as someone that should be successful regardless of his partner.

Not disagree with you because money was probably THE motivating factor for Weber, but, what if he wanted to go to Philly AND get paid? The CBA was expiring and contract term limits were almost all but assured. The teams tried to work out a trade and couldn't come to an agreement. In that scenario, what he did was probably the only option he had left.

I agree. They will find success, they are both too good not to.

Weber hasn't even been the best defenseman on our team. That title belongs to Roman "Going to be better than Ryan Suter" Josi. Weber looks a little out of sorts, IMO because he wants to be in Philly, but I think he'll return to form.

I love when people complain about defensemen killing their fantasy team. Why the hell are you even drafting defensemen so high anyway? If the success of your team relies on the stat output of a defenseman, you clearly don't understand the concept of fantasy hockey.

Don't you mean:

Roman "Next guy to be offer sheeted by Philly" Josi.

Yes, I have no idea how a guy with a slapshot is supposed to score points.

Really not surprised at Webers decline in offense. It always seemed to me that the offense he did generate was because Suter was always sitting back covering any mistakes. Now with Josi so young Weber has more defensive responsibilties

That would only be true if Weber was an offensive defenseman that joined the rush all the time. He's not. Weber's points come from the Predators cycling the puck and getting Weber open for that huge bomb of a shot. Now Suter's did help him out 2 ways on this, 1, Suter has really good vision and could always seem to know where to be to hold the puck in at the blueline, 2 he always had a knack for getting Weber a pass across when Weber was wide open for a one timer.

Weber's problem this year is the Predators forwards have turned the puck over at an alarming rate and cannot establish control long enough in the offensive zone to cycle the puck at all. So Weber's bomb of a shot is neutralized. It has way less to do with Suter than it does, Fisher, SK, Gaustad, Erat, Legwand, etc.

Holland made the right choice by not signing him .

But srsly that's brutal, MG is big disappointment too. But I'm sure both will improve.

FYI 10 of Webers 19 goals last year were on the PP. Preds PP has been trash so far this year, keep that in consideration as well.

Minnesota is still a lousy team. They are one of the worst puck possession clubs in the league

You have to be able to launch it 1st. Preds never have the puck long enough to get it to him. Unless you just want him to blast it every time down and all of those will be stopped be a average goalie. The Preds forwards are pathetic this season.

Suter is driving me nuts. I drafted him in my fantasy league and I just had to drop him in favour of Hedman.

As is/was Nashville. Not a valid excuse. He just isn't used to playing without Weber yet.

Suter ****ed up a perfect hall of fame pairing. Weber still can't get open hardly at all because the Preds hardly ever have the puck in the offensive zone, true story. Weber has been fine really.

Josi\Weber hasn't really looked all that different from Suter\Weber defensively. The points aren't coming yet, but Nashville is also currently dead last in GF, after being top ten last season. To say the forwards are off to a slow start is an understatement. Injuries to Erat and Hornqvist, the Preds top point getter and top goal scorer respectively..also not helping the point totals.

While I'm sure Suter will turn it around, I can't say I'm not rooting against him\enjoying it.

Could have had it all, champ.
