I'm not calling Subban poor defensively or anything like that. I'm just saying that McDonagh is clearly the superior player defensively. The gap may not be too big, but it's big enough where I think he should definitely get at least a few hundred thousand more.

Hagelin will also be an interesting case, because he will start the season on the 1st line, but if Kreider becomes this monster 95% of the fans expect him to become then Hagelin could eventually be "demoted" to the 3rd line.

If you look on the first post this thread a bit down on the page - I analyze the 2nd contracts Sather has been giving ou t to the homegrown boys after their ELCs. You might wanna take a peak, but your numbers are very close to mine.

I myself predict around $2,5M for Stepan, $2,0M for Hagelin & $4,3M for McDonaugh. The 1st 2 contracts will likely 2 year bridge contracts a la Sather - the 3rd one similar to Marc Staal (over 5 years). Will doubtlessly be interesting to follow... Now just drop the puck!

Thanks for explaining out some of the cap scenarios . It can be mind boggling some days trying to keep on top of it ! I'm sure many others like myself feel the same way .

And with part of a campaign playing against men in the American League behind him, the young power forward came correct with nine points in seven games, tying him for the team lead with Jacob Trouba and Johnny Gaudreau en route to a gold medal.
“It was nice getting to play guys my own age for a bit and just get some confidence back,” Miller said.

“It took me awhile to adjust there, plus I went from wing to center, but it was one of the best leagues in the world to play in when the lockout was on,” he said. “It’s really good competition, I love it.”
Miller has tallied 16 points through 32 games and at times has gone on nice offensive runs for several games. Not bad for one of the youngest players in the league. With the end of the NHL lockout clawing back some of the talent that normally wouldn’t have been in the AHL, the Ohio native will be one of the better prospects to watch down there for the rest of the season. saving 500K from Rupp to Powe is great for next yr. Every little bit counts. Also alot of teams may just carry 1 spare which is why Bickel actually makes some sense if he doesnt completely suck which I have doubts about
