Some, for sure, like with any two teams with a proud and rich history within one city's borders. It's pretty textbook in the way that the one club (1860) sees itself as more of the working people's club, while Bayern is commonly portraited as the upper class side. With the teams fighting at rather different regions of the league even a number of years before 60 got relegated for their extended amount of time now, there isn't as much animosity as with some other big derbies, IMO. But some, absolutely.

I think it's quite bitter on the blue side, but on the red side it's less so because such a large % of their fanbase isn't from the Munich area but there are probably old timers and locals on the Bayern side who 100% hate 60 as well.

If you are a Bayern fan from Ingolstadt, Ulm, Kassel or god knows where, you probably don't care too much about a lower-tier team that hasn't threatened Bayern in the last 40 years.

A pretty lackluster win for Bayern. Molinaro with a brainfart that led to the first Bayern goal. In general Bayern haven't yet been the same team after the break that they were in 2012, but it will come.

very interesting race for 4th place with clubs like Eintracht Frankfurt (who are currently 4th), Freiburg and Mainz in the picture. Though for the Bundesliga's sake I don't know if any of these teams have the quality to qualify yet alone compete in the CL (Monchengladbach couldn't even qualify past Dynamo Kiev, German clubs will be unseeded outside of Schalke)

Still a big gap between 16th/17th and the automatic safety spots but Augsburg have pickd up 4 points in their opening 2 matches of the second half of the season to give them some belief, especially with Hoffenheim, Nurnberg and Fortuna all hitting bad form (I guess you can throw Werder in that discussion as well). Hoffenheim have spent like 9-10 million euros in January to get out of this mess, lets see how long it takes them to gel. Furth is pretty much down

The BL is crazy tight after the top 3, alongside those clubs, Schalke, Gladbach, Hamburg and Hannover are within striking distance of Frankfurt. I think Gladbach are growing into the team to take that spot, they've been close without playing their best yet this season, but they've gotten results, stuck around and kept getting better and better. Looks like the D is finally settled into the post-Dante and post-Neustadter world and they should be a big threat in this ruckrunde.

With Arrango they can steal a goal at any time, Hermann's really starting to flourish playing the Reus role and LdJ is back and starting to play well. If one of the kids steps up on the right this team is ready to make their push.

Freiburg sign Zuck from Kaiserslautern.

Mind boggling sale by Kaiserslautern given all the talk Kuntz gave about the future model and redevelopment of youth facilities and 'Betze-Bonds', and goes and sells a young player that identifies with the club to make room for players not good enough for Frankfurt

Do you think Sandhausen will avoid relegation to 3. Liga?

and Hallescher avoid relegation to Regionalliga?

Like many teams which are promoted from a lower division, both Sandhausen and Halle ("Hallescher" means just "from Halle") had a good start (perhaps benefitting from some sort of euphoria and an underdog effect) and began to struggle over the course of the season. With only 14 games remaining, Sandhausen has to overcome a six point-deficit to be safe from relegation, which seems highly unlikely; particularly Dresden, Bochum, Duisburg and St. Pauli all have rosters, which were widely considered average or even better. I do not expect Sandhausen to remain in the 2. Liga. Halle has better chances to avoid relegation, since Aachen is declared bankrupt and therefore will be relegated regardless of the standings.

Gruß,

Thanks, I'm starting to try follow the lower leagues since a couple of Finns have moved to them recently

Hopefully Makela can have some kind of good impact at Sandhausen.

Same for Furuholm & Kojola at Halle

Sandhausen did not look very good today against Union. Could've been much worse than the 3-0 it ended up being.

Yeah I watched the first half, the strikers didn't get anything to work with

But Union got a penalty which I don't think it was

that was a nice goal by Petersen in the end. Great lob-pass by Yildirim and a volley smashed into top corner

Yeah, that penalty was weak, but we wasted enough chances before and after that the scoreline was still flattering to Sandhausen. Which isn't a good sign, because our D has been a real weakness.

Schalke....they need a manager, but that might not even help

All the bottom 4-5 clubs got results today

there's no good manager out there, unfourtunately.

We need a defensive midfielder that can do something with the ball. And a striker who can hit the goal and not hide behind defenders.

Are there any sites that show 3. Bundesliga matches?

Big game coming up for Halle v Babelsberg and I'd like to watch it if possible

Only some of the games are shown. If you look on firstrow etc they'll usually have up a couple of 3.Liga games

Kind of a funny commentary on globalization, isn't it? A Scottish guy asking on American hockey forum if there's a way for him to watch a German lower league soccer game between Halle and Babelsberg.

Full transmission of 3. Liga matches are very rare. But usually, the local TV stations show highlights of matches with teams from their region.

The local Station of Halle/Saale (not to be confused with the much smaller town of Halle in Westfalen) is MDR. Its sports show is called "Sport im Osten" and highlights are often available on the show's homepage - just like this clip of Halle's impressive win against Unterhaching (with a Furuholmen interview at the end).

Mandukic does twice as much for the team compared to Lewandowski.

lol no he doesn't. Lewa's better at pressing the other team, he's just as good at moving around and creating space for Reus, Gotze and Kuba to run in, and he's stronger on the ball. Mandzo's good but Lewa's literally as good or better at everything.
