Moss, TO,or Rice?

After yesterday I realized Randy does not care...at all. Which is fine except there are still folks who say he is better then Jerry. At this point I would not take TO over him.

Thoughts

1. Rice
2. Moss
3. Owens

If Moss had Rice's work ethic and attitude he woulda been one of the best players ever and it wouldn't have even been close. Definitely the most talented of the 3. He changed the way defenses played the game.

Moss cares, but he simply isn't the wr he used to be. Crabtree and Davis are both much better options than he is now. That said, he was open in the end zone multiple times and never got the ball.

This poll is all Rice.

Moss has more talent than any receiver to ever play the game, but he doesn't care. I'd still rank him ahead of TO.

Addendum to my previous post, re: Moss:

He cares, he just "plays when he wants to play."

As it pertains to how he's bounced around, I give him benefit of the doubt in mostly every case.

Minnesota (1) - Red McCombs being cheap, plus Tice being a ****** coach.
Oakland - It's Oakland.
New England - Was that more contract related or did he wear out his welcome? Both?
Minnesota (2) - Brad Childress, nuff said.
Tennessee - Rode out string as an aging rental on a terrible team, with Rusty Smith as QB.

Not like TO did either.

Even without the off the field headaches I'd deffinately take Don Hutson, Steve Largent, Tim Brown, Mike Irvin and probably a few others before the second two.

Moss is clearly the most talented wr ever

It really isnt close

But like everyone else has stated... If he only worked full time instead of part time....

LOL I think your next question should be, who was the greatest Oiler of all time Gretzky, MacTavish, or Semenko?

Poll would be just as close.

Tim Brown really sticks out on that list. At no point in his career was he the best player at his position. Maybe not even top-5.

And Brad Park never won the Norris.

Had Brown ever spent much time with good quarterbacking and outside of the Raiders' circus we'd have a better gauge.

. I was trying to do too many things at once. Largent was the best guy from that list, imo, and I wouldn't take him over Moss or Owens.

I would if he had their physical talent, though.

I think you overstate how bad things were. Raiders had a winning record during his run with them, only 2 seasons in 15 years with less than 7 wins (compared to 5 seasons with 10+ wins). Raiders were relevant back then.

Tim Brown had Jeff George (an excellent QB... he just only cared about his stats) and Rich Gannon (a league MVP). Even Jay Schroeder and Jeff Hostetler had some decent (even Pro-Bowl IIRC, back when it wasn't a total joke) seasons early in Brown's career. Despite that, he never had an outstanding season. EA long career of very good, never great. As I recall, he didn't even establish himself as a legit starter until he was in the league for 5-6 years. He was mostly a 3rd WR and punt returner until

Guy had 2 double-digit TD seasons in 16 years despite despite being on some excellent teams helmed by Pro-Bowl/All-Pro QBs. No way on earth was he better than Moss or Owens.

Agreed that Moss has the best toolbox of the bunch, but he's only a part-time worker.

Rice.

Rice had all the numbers, all the skills, and he has the rings.

I'd probably go with Owens second, because despite all the antics with Rosenhaus and such, he still showed up and played hard. You never heard about him dogging it in practice or having a bad work ethic. He was just one of the bigger egomaniacs in the history of life.

I've seen him give up on a lot of plays and the guy gets some of the worst cases of the butterfingers.
