Someone should try to explain this Corsi stuff to me because whenever I look at it I just don't know what I'm looking at. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Or I'm an idiot. The shots for/against is easy enough.
You're not an idiot, the Corsi stuff is crap. People use it because they don't watch enough games or don't know how to form their own opinions when watching games. They draw up baseless conclusions and anyone with half a brain wouldn't take this Corsi stuff serious.

It's not crap. Like any stat, including +/-, it has a context. But as always, no single stat defines a player. Not even goals/points.

Corsi (actually not that one but all those tools when combined) are very good at looking at defensive stats which are hard to judge.
Besides, who has time to watch all 30 teams on a regular 1-2 times per week basis? No one does, not even an analyst. And it's not like people's own cognitive vision is unbiased.
So the Avs are suppose to lighten ALL the D-men's ice time by going with all forwards on the powerplay? Maybe they can put all forwards out on the penalty kill too in order to give ALL the D-men a breather and lighten ALL D-men's ice time.
C'mon man, the statement that ALL D-men are getting too much ice time makes no sense.

I would argue that they have plenty of #5 and #6 D-men so whomever is playing in those roles is well cast. I would also argue that Johnson is cast just fine as a top pairing D-man although a top #1 might be a stretch. Where the Avs are lacking is a 2nd top pairing D-man and a decent set of #3 and #4 D-men.
Even if they don't have a true #2, #3, or #4 D-man that doesn't mean that ALL D-men are getting too much ice time.
I found this though: bk= British Knight, and lots of other weird stuff that bk could mean, but I suppose you weren't trying to mean those things.
You really have to shorten the word "back"? (if bk=back that is)
nobody got my ryder/morrow reference. How quickly do we forget.
I lawled, but just now read the GDT so...
also, if somebody could post a link to a feed since it isn't being shown on GCL that'd be great. I'm not sure if you can watch it via nbcsports online or not.
