Rupp's a solid fourth liner and a (rather significantly) better version of Bollig, but let's not get on Bowman for not acquiring him. He's not an impact player and he wouldn't have made any genuine difference to this team. Rupp is not a second line center.

I dont think it would have meant losing Bollig, in order to get Rupp we would have had to move an NHL body..maybe a Stalberg would have gone if that was the case. not sure but I think if we got Rupp, he and Bollig would still be on the roster unless NYR asked for Bollig in return.

Rangers call up JT Miller

I remember wanting him more than Mark McNeill during that draft, but they beat us to him.

Kind of an odd choice for a call up. Some guys step their games up in the NHL though. It could also be a showcase move.

Could be a one-night filler until Powe passes his physical and gets acclimated to the team.

he rose a lot after the u18 tourney.

I am surprised they are bringing him up as I dont know what line he would play on and I dont get it if its the 4th line.

He is a solid kid and has a bright future, but he really hasnt set the AHL on fire and I would rather see him develope the entire year in the AHL than rushing him up...but who knows maybe they feel he can play in their top 9 right now.

lol.

Move Stalberg, the guy who had 20 goals and 40 points for the guy who had 5 fricking points. Am I reading this right?

Brutal stuff. No idea where the Rupp love is coming from.

This sudden Rupp love is a testament to the notion that the grass is always greener on the other side.

It is especially weird since on the main boards all the neutral fans and even most Wild fans are criticizing the deal saying it is a bad trade and an overpayment. Yet some people here wanted us to actually top the deal given up by the Wild. Definitely strange.

never said it would be in a straight up deal.

and now all the love for Stalberg?? I am not a hater or a fan of his, but this guy has only scored 9, 12, and 22 goals in his first 3 seasons...and has 2 goals in 9 games so far. quit acting like he is some perennial 40 point producer, he simply isnt.

Rupp's job isnt about scoring goals, not sure why you are even trying to compare that. two completely different roles.

Stalberg is becoming less and less of a factor on this team, and we need grit and toughness and Stalberg seems like a likely bet to get moved especially considering a pay raise he will be getting and one we really wont want to deal with.

Rupp is better than Mayers, Kruger, Bollig, and possibly Shaw who still has a lot to prove. the grass is greener with this guy compared to what is currently on our 4th line.

Well if he was as good as some claim, he would be on the top line instead of Saad, or the Hawks would have to play Kane at center to get him on the 2nd line.

Again I think Stalberg is okay to good, but some people on here think he is always going to be a 20 plus goal scorer and I doubt that happens much in his career.

I love his wheels and heart, but outside of that he is purely average and not worth the pay raise he will likely get.

Saad has nothing to do with it. It's the best fit for the team but his linemates suck. Stalberg has been effective on every line over the last year and he's not having a bad year.

was watching NHL on the Fly and the Hawks are ranked #1 overall for their power rankings.

Kelly Chase said that the Hawks must be pissed to have to watch someone else carry the cup the past few years and that we are firing on all cylinders...wow, I like where we are at, but I would hardly state we are firing on all cylinders right now.
