Yeah man, but he'd be an even better 4th line C! Imagine if we can get a guy like M. Koivu to center the 3rd line with wingers like Nash and Pacioretty! Pleks can keep Gionta and maybe we can get a guy like Lucic to wing them on the 4th line!
So you're opposed to having a team good enough to put Plekanec on the 3rd line? When it's perfectly feasable?
I don't know what to say to you. Plekanec may not be a bonafide Number 1 Center, but he is a damned good 2nd line center on any Cup contending team.
Probably a difference of semantics. A team like that would roll it's lines, but I refer to the line getting the top defensive assignments as the 3rd. Would probably get more ice than the 2nd. Bottom line is I want a team with 3 top flight centers.
A little carried away are you, you have so far played probably the league's weakest schedule and most games have been at home. Contrary to what you may think, nobody outside of Montreal considers the Habs to be in Boston's class, that's the plain truth. As per usual your hopes will rest on Price and the PP, be happy that your team is on the upswing, but to think that we have no grit, no toughness is just plain silly. As for Thomas, he was hit and miss against Montreal, the Bruins are quite fine with him, enjoy the game.
In the past the Habs have given the Bruins trouble when the Bruins were the favored team. The shellacking the Sabres gave the Bruins last week should at least give you pause. Thomas may have been hit and miss but so was Rask. As I see it the current Habs are a better team than the one that came close to upsetting the Bruins in the first round of their playoff run because this time Markov and Pacioretty are off the disabled list and they've added Emelin, Diaz, Cole, Desharnais, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, and Prust. I'm not saying the Habs are better than the Bruins but it's hardly a mismatch.

Reason: afterthought
I know it's early but it's against boston and could be for the division lead
also Moen in Glory's First GDT
The division lead in hockey terms, the conference (or perhaps league-wide) lead in artwork terms... unless the Sharks had us beat in that department since the season began (the Sharks outrageously dominate the West as far as GDTs are concerned), in which case we can still hope to lead the East in GDT artwork. But then we can reasonably expect to finish the season with the best GDTs in the East this year around. And maybe two Waffle Cup berths for the Habs.
Rask shutout
Lucic hat trick
Price is chased
Prust gets beat down by Seguin
Galchenyuk demands a trade
Markov tears his ACL
Subban disrespects his teammates
Plekanec is traded for Pierre-Luc Létourneau-Leblond
Therrien quits and is replaced by Lefebvre

Hopefully Prust drops the gloves with one of their thugs.
Anyone have Rask career stats versus us? He was in nets for the Pacioretty-Chara hit and he was pretty terrible.
I remember before the hit, the Habs completely outhustled, outhit, and outplayed the Bruins that night. It was a statement game and they came out flying out of the gates.
