I doubt that very much based on everything I've seen from him.. A very very good player yes, but a generational talent like Crosby... I'm not banking on it.

would still love to troll the NHL by having a deep playoff run then trading maybe eller and several of our 1, 2nds for a mckinnon, barkov, drouin or jones

Pierre Gauthier just came down to press row to heckle me for my Bose headphones, haha

LOL

As for Toronto, the great thing is every loss makes it more and more likely that Kessel refuses to re-sign, which is just a total disaster for that franchise as no way they will get back fair value compared to what they traded for him.

If they draft top 5...and then sell Kessel for 50 cents of the dollar, they aren't making much progress.

I wish we could steal Kessel, he's so snakebitten. He's got scoring's equivalent of blue balls, when it comes he's going to erupt.

It may sound ridiculous to want a dirty Leaf, but I agree. He'd be an excellent fit here. There would be no ''you HAVE to be the face of the franchise'' type pressure on him either.

If the price was right, why not.

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Kessel

Kessel has proved he can't be a go to guy, having him on our top line wouldn't be a good fit for him. He needs less pressure, 2nd like kind of situation. he's got a ton of goal scoring talent, maybe with less pressure he may stop being so streaky. That right situation isn't in Toronto, or here in Montreal.

Pretty sure by "price" he meant the $ of his next contract.

Kessel is fine as a team's top goal scorer/point producer. Its being his team's best overall forward or worse, best overall player when you get in trouble. A couple someone elses needs to play defense and get him the puck.

Give Toronto Plekanec Markov and Price and they are a good team. The problem is they don't have that.

I prefer to just wish them to finish 9th in the east.

I prefer Pac-Galch-Gally TBH. Kessel is not the type of player i want in my team. Yes ofc he has elite talent, but as you can see right now, he's a streaky player and some nights he just doesn't care. With Gallagher, you are guaranteed that he will always bring his 100% no matter what. And so, far he seems to have a very good chemistry with Gally, even though they have no ice time.

The future is bright

Of course, all I am saying is there is at least a likely silver lining if their season implodes and they pick top 5.

Watching the Oilers / Canucks game. I cannot believe with all the top end offensive talent the Oilers have, they have not signed a real experienced and skilled FA like Jagr, Whitney, Selanne...
to be a mentor to these guys.

I like Smyth, but he's more of a grinder. A ridiculous oversight in my book.

What do you think Hemsky's influence is precisely?

They're fine.

You're really comparing Hemsky to the others I mentioned? Not in the same Galaxy.

I'd take Kessel on the Habs too but after Boston and Toronto, he's probably done with big market cities. He was never the most outgoing guy to begin with. He'll probably wind up in Florida next year.

Aside from Selanne, they pretty much all have similar season starts. Unless you're speculating on leadership, which I have no idea about, I don't think adding one of the players you mentioned would have made any difference.

.. And you know Selanne would have not signed anywhere else than in Anaheim..
