I feel bad for the die-hard fans, but be sure, but that market has had their chances and just won't work.

Quebec City, Seattle, Milwaukee, Kansas City, and Markham seem like better options IMO.
I think Seattle is getting the team ... and Markham & QC will get the expansion teams ... too much money to pass up on allowing Markham/QC to just get a relocated franchise

When Phoenix had one of it's up ticks the fire thing I said was 'Show up'. The die hards showed up, but the rest of Phoenix area didn't. Fact is, Nashville fought, showed up and the ticket prices are going up. Atlanta was screwed by crooked, uncaring ownership. Phoenix, was screwed when they agreed on the Glendale deal.

It sucks, and I'm sorry for the fan base.

It would be like if the Predators' arena was located in Murfreesboro instead of downtown. It was a bad idea from the start, and it's put the team into a hopeless situation.
Kind of in the same boat, and it sucks.

Jerry Moyes was a screw up all around when it came to hockey. Poor location for the arena, attempted bypass of the league's rules concerning franchise transfer and possible relocation, issue after issue leads back to him.

Now, now, let's be reasonable. I'm sure he's been a massive screwball failure in things other than hockey as well.

Tampa scores 8 tonight. Scored five or more in the last four games. They haven't scored less than four in a game this year

Must be nice for Lindback to play with some offensive support.

Lindback's stats aren't great, but behind that offense, as long as it keeps going, he can learn and work stuff out and get better.

It's time for the annual Scottie Upshall injury report. He's out a month with an ankle injury. I thought maybe he might get through a 48 game season without getting hurt, but wow he really can't stay healthy.

Dater is reporting the Portland WInterhawks owner could be involved in trying to buy the Yotes and move them to Portland. Already have a NHL ready arena, Seats 18,250 for hockey, and 70 skyboxes.

This move gets the T6S seal of approval.

Next expansion teams can go to Quebec City and Kansas City/Markham/Milwaukee

Portland is also the #22 TV market. Seattle is #14.

Seattle has the Seahawks and the Mariners. An NBA team already failed because it is not sports-crazed enough to support three teams. If the Sonics couldn't make it, I don't see the Coyotes working.

Portland, on the other hand, just has an NBA team. Those two sports tend to attract very different fan bases, so it could easily work. Portland already has a minor league team and a rink, so it makes sense to me.

Bizarre note of the day: If this happens, the AHL affiliate of the Portland team would be in Portland...Maine.

The Sonics didn't fail because it's not a sports crazed market. The Sonics failed because their previous owner sold the team to an Oklahoma City business man and was too stupid to realize that the businessman had no desire to keep the team in Seattle and was going to move it the first chance he got after he "tried" to work out a deal for a new arena.

That could work. Close enough to Vancouver to create a good rivalry and doesn't really infringe upon Canuck fans who live in Seattle. Plus I think there is a train that goes from Vancouver to Portland (thru Seattle) and would make easy travel.

Seattle and the Sounders are almost akin to Colorado and the Avalanche. That team has never really known hardship since entering MLS and has had an endless procession of Nice Things drop into their lap. (Including, incidentally, the coach that got my Crew the MLS Cup.)

I wouldn't mind seeing just how much they'd support the Sounders if there was a multiyear drought.

Over under of plus minus differential between Roman Josi and Ryan Suter. Does it reach 25?

Roman Josi: +1
Ryan Suter: -7

That's 8

It's great to see the former Preds goalies doing well - Lindback is 5-2. His stats aren't fantastic (especially GAA) but good enough. Vokoun and Ellis are 3-1 and 2-1 with save % of .927 and .939. Poile and Mitch Korn done good, and I'm glad all those guys are playing in the east.

Well Vokoun is on the Pens so he probably doesn't even have to try. Where is Ellis now?

Wild get half-heartedly booed off the ice.

Ellis is with Carolina.
