Considering salary can be moved now, that should be less of an issue. Originally I was thinking the Oil add a bit to even it out, but if the Oil take back a million or so that would/should balance the deal.

Hemsky at 3.5/4mil for Clowe?

I like both Murray and Clowe, unfortunately I don't see the Flyers bidding for their services, mostly because of a lack of assets they'd want to trade.

With Hartnell and Simmonds out, I expect Holmgren to make a move for a top 6 winger sooner rather then later, particularly if they continue to lose games.

Problem is all they really have to trade is Matt Read and draft picks. The loss of Matt Read (who plays the wing) doesnt help the situation any better.

I'd like Clowe in Philly, but can't see the Flyers wanting to trade their first rounder (especially given how poor they look) and their tradeable assets are all needed right now given the injuries.

Think they'd be out for those reasons.

If your main goal is to obtain more speed on your wings while keeping some production then I would think MacArthur is an upgrade on Clowe.

MacArthur scored at the same rate as Clowe last season, except he had a 9.5 on-ice shooting percentage, and Clowe sported a 7.2%. The only reason MacArthur was close to Clowe in production was because he rode the hot percentages and Clowe got unlucky.

To Sharks:

Chad LaRose
3rd Round Pick 2013

To Hurricanes:

Douglas Murray

Canes desperately need a consistent, stay-at-home defensemen, and from what I've heard, Murray fits that bill. I've heard rumors before about LaRose or other third-line type of players to be dangled for this need. I could see a similar package also being used for Shane O'Brien in Colorado.

Though LaRose gets a ton of **** on the Canes' HFBoards site, he's honestly a good third liner that took on too much of an offensive role the last few seasons because of lack of top-six talent. In the right situation, he's one of the better bottom 6ers out there IMO.

Done and done. Murray is a great (great) penalty killer and a warrior who will block Shea Weber slappers with his face. But slow as balls.

So basically a Bryan Allen-type of defenseman, with an expiring contract that we can re-sign on the reasonably cheap ($3-3.5 Million/Year)? Sold.

I'm sure you could re-sign Murray for less than that. He's currently making $2.5m/year and a very good #5 dman. I'd say he'll be between $2-3m/year.

Sold. I'll drive him to Raleigh myself.

anyway more sane offer....i'd consider a D prospect and mid pick for murray or a

2nd + Leblanc for Clowe

i would've done clowe for eller but clowe's a UFA so no dice on that

Shark fans need to be realistic about the worth of pending UFA's.
Can't see them dealing Clowe though

I would rather let Clowe walk for free after we're swept in round 1 than take that
